The 2019 Brit Awards were held on 20 February 2019 at The O2 Arena in London. It was the 39th edition of the British Phonographic Industry's annual pop music awards. On 26 November 2018, Jack Whitehall was announced as the host for the second year running. [3] Sir David Adjaye was announced as the official designer of the BRIT statuette. [4] In December 2018, it was announced that BBC Radio 1, Live Lounge and Top of the Pops host Clara Amfo hosted the BRITs Are Coming Nominations Launch Show on 12 January 2019. Clara Amfo and Alice Levine was live from the Red Carpet before the Main Show on ITV2.
On 11 February 2019, it was announced that Hugh Jackman would open the ceremony with a song from The Greatest Showman soundtrack and on 13 February 2019 during her appearance on BBC One's The One Show with Alex Jones and Matt Baker, Clara Amfo confirmed that Pink would close the ceremony. [5] [6]

On 14 February 2019, it was announced that Capital FM Breakfast Show host Vick Hope and Todrick Hall would host the YouTube Music Live Stream from 7:45pm GMT and it was also announced on the same day, that Jamie Laing and Yasmin Evans would host the Facebook Red Carpet Live Stream from 4:30pm GMT.

The BRIT Awards are the British Phonographic Industry's annual popular music awards. The name was originally a shortened form of "British", "Britain", or "Britannia", but subsequently became a backronym for British Record Industry Trusts Show. In addition, an equivalent awards ceremony for classical music, called the Classic BRIT Awards, is held in May. The awards were first held in 1977 and originated as an annual event in 1982 under the auspices of the British record industry's trade association, the BPI. The 2007 Brit Awards was the 27th edition of the biggest annual pop music awards in the United Kingdom. Duffy became the first female artist to ever win three awards in the same year, and only Blur, in 1995, have ever won more awards at a single ceremony. The show was advertised as live by ITV but the broadcast included several audio deletions which means the show was shown on a time delay system. The 2009 Brit Awards ceremony was watched by 5.49 million people and was the 32nd most watched programme on TV on the week ending 22 February.

Robbie Williams was given the Brits Icon Award the previous November during a special concert held in his honour at Troxy in London. Architect Dame Zaha Hadid designed the Brit Award statuette that was to be given to the winners.

The 2021 Brit Awards will take place on 11 May 2021. Usually held in February, the ceremony has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 Brits will be hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall, who has hosted the awards since 2018, who equals the record set by James Corden by hosting the ceremony in four consecutive years. The ceremony will be held at The O2 for the 12th year since the ceremony was moved from Earls Court after the 2010 ceremony.
