The 2019 NOCA Men's Provincial Championship , the "provincial" men's curling championship of Northern Ontario was held from January 30 to February 2 at the Nipigon Curling Club in Nipigon, Ontario. [1] The winning team of skip Brad Jacobs, third Ryan Fry, second E.J. Harnden and lead Ryan Harnden represented Northern Ontario at the 2019 Tim Hortons Brier in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada's national men's curling championship. The final was a rematch of the previous year's championship, with Jacobs prevailing once again. Team Jacobs defeated Team Horgan with a final score of 7-5. This was the 11th time that the rink represented Northern Ontario. The event was held in conjunction with the 2019 Northern Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Northern Ontario's women's championship.

The 2006 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men's national curling championship, was held from March 11 to 19 at the Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Bradley Robert Jacobs is a Canadian curler from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He currently plays skips Team Reid Carruthers. He is an Olympic champion skip, having led Canada to a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Jacobs is also the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier championship skip and the 2013 World Championship runner-up. He is a 12-time Northern Ontario provincial champion, and one-time provincial junior champion.

Ryan Harnden is a Canadian curler. He currently plays lead on Team Matt Dunstone. He is the former lead for the Brad Jacobs rink, with whom he represented Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics, winning a gold medal.

Amanda Gates is a Canadian curler who currently coaches the Abby Deschene rinks on the World Curling Tour. Gates used to play with Team Tracy Fleury and in 2015, Team Horgan became the first women's team in the history of women's curling to represent Northern Ontario at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. In Gates' first appearance at the Scotties, she won the Marj Mitchell Sportsmanship Award.

Trevor Nevin Marcel Bonot is a Canadian curler who lives in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Bonot was raised in Stratton, Ontario. Bonot played for Team Canada and won a medal at a World Mixed Curling Championships (2017).
The 2024 Northern Ontario Men's Provincial Curling Championship, the men's provincial curling championship for Northern Ontario, was held from January 24 to 28 at the NEMI Recreation Complex in Little Current, Ontario. The winning Trevor Bonot rink will represent Northern Ontario at the 2024 Montana's Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship in Regina, Saskatchewan. The event was held in conjunction with the 2024 Northern Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship.
