The Order of Merit was based on tournament results during the season, calculated using a points-based system. [2] The top five players on the Order of Merit (not otherwise exempt) earned status to play on the 2020 Challenge Tour. [3] [4]

  1. The number in brackets after each winner's name is the number of Pro Golf Tour events they had won up to and including that tournament. It is rare for someone to accumulate many wins on the Pro Golf Tour as success at this level usually leads to promotion to the Challenge Tour.

The Challenge Tour is the second-tier men's professional golf tour in Europe. It is operated by the PGA European Tour and similarly with the main European Tour and the European Senior Tour, some of the events are played outside Europe.

The 2006 European Tour was the 35th season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972.

The OneAsia Tour was a men's professional golf tour based in the Asia-Pacific region. The tour was founded in 2009 as a joint venture between the PGA Tour of Australasia, the China Golf Association, the Korean Golf Association and the Korean PGA. The Japan Golf Tour was invited to participate in the project in 2012 and had co-sanctioned the Indonesia Open, Indonesia PGA Championship and Thailand Open. From 2010 to 2017, tournaments on the OneAsia Tour were awarded Official World Golf Ranking points.

The 1985 European Tour, titled as the 1985 PGA European Tour, was the 14th season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972.

The 1993 European Tour, titled as the 1993 Volvo Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 22nd season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972.

The 1996 European Tour, titled as the 1996 PGA European Tour, was the 25th season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972.

The 1998 European Tour, titled as the 1998 PGA European Tour, was the 27th season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972.

The 2015 Pro Golf Tour was the 19th season of the Pro Golf Tour, a third-tier tour recognised by the European Tour.

The 2017 Pro Golf Tour is the 21st season of the Pro Golf Tour, a third-tier tour recognised by the European Tour.
