The 2020 North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship were planned as the second edition of the North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship which is a qualifying tournament for the 2020 IHF Super Globe. It was supposed to be held in Lake Placid, United States at the United States Olympic Training Center from 16 to 20 June 2020. [1]

The men's ice hockey tournament at the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, United States, was the 4th Olympic Championship, also serving as the 6th World Championships. Canada, represented by the Winnipeg Hockey Club, won its fourth consecutive Olympic gold medal and sixth consecutive World Championship. The 2021 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 27th event hosted by the International Handball Federation and held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021.

The Pan American Men's Club Handball Championship, organized by the Pan-American Team Handball Federation, was the official competition for men's handball clubs of Americas, and took place every year. In addition to crowning the Pan American champions, the tournament also served as a qualifying tournament for the IHF Super Globe. After 2018, with the division of the Pan-American Federation into North America and the Caribbean Handball Confederation and South and Central America Handball Confederation, the competition was ended.

Handball competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, were held from July 24 to August 5. The venue for the competition is the Sports Centre Hall 1 located at the Videna cluster. The venue also hosted judo. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams competed in each tournament. This means a total of 224 athletes are competed.

The South American Men's Club Handball Championship, organized by the Pan-American Team Handball Federation, was the official competition for men's handball clubs of South Americas, and takes place every year. In addition to crowning the Pan American champions, the tournament also served as a qualifying tournament for the IHF Super Globe. In 2003 or 2004 it was folded because of the dominance of the Brazilian teams. In 2007 the Pan American Men's Club Handball Championship was created.

The 2019 North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship was the first edition of the North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship which is a qualifying tournament for the 2019 IHF Super Globe. It was held in Lake Placid, United States at the United States Olympic Training Center from 9 to 12 May 2019.

‌The 2021 Nor.Ca. Women's Handball Championship will be 4th edition of the championship scheduled to be held from 22 to 27 August 2021 at Elgin, United States under the aegis of North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation. It will be the first time in history that the championship will be organised by the USA Team Handball. It also acts as the qualification tournament for the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship, with top team from the championship directly qualifying for the event to be held in Spain.

The 2021 North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship will be the second edition of the North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship which is a qualifying tournament for the 2021 IHF Men's Super Globe. It will be held in Fremont, United States at the Centerville Junior High School from 25 to 27 August 2021.
