The Big 12 Conference is a college athletic conference headquartered in Irving, Texas. It consists of 16 full-member universities in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia.
The TCU Horned Frogs are the athletic teams that represent Texas Christian University. The 18 varsity teams participate in NCAA Division I and in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) for football, competing mostly in the Big 12 Conference. The school was a founding member of the Southwest Conference and was a member of the Western Athletic Conference, Conference USA (CUSA), and the Mountain West Conference before joining the Big 12. Two TCU teams participate outside the Big 12 in sports not sponsored by that conference. The rifle team competes in the Patriot Rifle Conference, and the beach volleyball team moved to CUSA for 2023–24 after having been in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association.
The 2016 Big 12 Conference baseball tournament was held from May 25 through 29 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The annual tournament determined the conference champion of the Division I Big 12 Conference for college baseball. The TCU Horned Frogs won the Tournament Championship, and as the winner of the tournament, TCU earned the league's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The semifinals and championship game were played at Orlando City Stadium in Orlando, Florida on December 1 and 3, 2017, while the preceding rounds were played at various sites across the country during November 2017. The Stanford Cardinal were tournament champions, winning the final 3–2 over the UCLA Bruins.

The seven-match tournament took place at the Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The West Virginia Mountaineers were the defending champions, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament by virtue of losing the penalty shoot-out tiebreaking procedure following a tie with the TCU Horned Frogs in the semifinals. The Baylor Bears won the title, defeating TCU 2–1 in overtime in the final. This was the second Big 12 tournament title for the Baylor women's soccer program and first for head coach Paul Jobson.

The Baylor Bears were the defending champions and earned the top seed in 2018, facing eight seeded Iowa State in the first round. However, Baylor was not able to defend its crown, losing to West Virginia in the final.

The 2020 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament was the 39th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I women's collegiate soccer. The Santa Clara Broncos defeated the Florida State Seminoles in a penalty shoot-out to win the national championship.
The 2021 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament was the 40th edition of the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament, a postseason tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I women's college soccer. The College Cup was played on December 3 and December 6. It was originally set to be played in San Jose, California, but was moved to Stevens Stadium due to a conflict with the MLS playoffs schedule.
The 2021–22 Big 12 men's basketball season began with practices in October 2020, followed by the start of the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Regular season conference play began in November 2021 and concludes in March 2022. The 2022 Big 12 men's basketball tournament was held March 9–12, 2022, at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

The 2023 Big 12 Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Big 12 Conference held from October 28 to November 4, 2023. The 9-match tournament was scheduled to be held at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex in Round Rock, Texas. However a large amount of rain caused the field to be unavailable for the Quarterfinals and Semifinals, leading those rounds to instead be moved to Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas. The move in venue caused the Big 12 to have to refund all quarterfinal and semifinal round tickets. Admission was made free in Austin, so no attendance count was made, though fans coming still had to pay parking prices.
