Bosnia and Herzegovina, sometimes known as Bosnia-Herzegovina and informally as Bosnia, is a country in Southeast Europe, situated on the Balkan Peninsula. The accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union (EU) is the stated aim of the present relations between the two entities. Bosnia and Herzegovina has been recognised by the European Union as a "candidate country" for accession since the decision of the European Council in 2022 and is on the current agenda for future enlargement of the EU. Bosnia and Herzegovina takes part in the Stabilisation and Association Process and trade relations are regulated by an Interim Agreement.

The European Taekwondo Championships are the European senior championships in Taekwondo, first held in Barcelona in 1976. The event is held every two years and is organized by the European Taekwondo Union, the continental affiliate of World Taekwondo, which organises and controls Olympic style taekwondo. An additional event, the G4 Extra European Taekwondo Championships were exceptionally held in 2019.

Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Thunder and Lightning", written by Dino Šaran and performed by Vukašin Brajić. On 11 January 2010, the Bosnian broadcaster Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT) revealed that they had internally selected Brajić to compete at the 2010 contest in Oslo, Norway. His song, "Munja i grom", was presented to the public during a show entitled BH Eurosong Show 2010 on 14 March 2010. The song was later translated from Bosnian to English for the Eurovision Song Contest with the new title "Thunder and Lightning".

European Taekwondo Junior Championships is a European bienal championship organized for juniors age category by European Taekwondo Union, first held in 1978. The event is contested every two years.

The 2014 European Taekwondo Championships was the 21st edition of the European Taekwondo Championships, and was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from May 1 to May 4, 2014.

Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Ljubav je" written by Almir Ajanović and Jasmin Fazlić Jala. The song was performed by Dalal and Deen featuring Ana Rucner and Jala. Dalal and Deen are Bosnian singers, the former known as a member of the duo Erato and the latter having represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, while Ana Rucner is a Croatian cellist and Jala is a Bosnian rapper. In November 2015, the Bosnian broadcaster Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT) announced that they would be returning to the Eurovision Song Contest after a three-year absence after securing sponsorship to cover both the participation fee and all costs related to the participation. In the same month, the broadcaster revealed that they had internally selected Dalal Midhat-Talakić, Fuad Backović-Deen, Ana Rucner and Jasmin Fazlić Jala to compete at the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Their song, "Ljubav je", was presented to the public during a show entitled BH Eurosong Show 2016 on 19 February 2016.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group D was one of the ten UEFA groups in the World Cup qualification tournament to decide which teams would qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals tournament in Qatar. Group D consisted of five teams: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, France, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The teams played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format.

She won the gold medal in the women's 200 m butterfly and a bronze medal in the women's 100 m butterfly at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships, and a bronze in the women's 200 m butterfly at the 2021 FINA World Swimming Championships. National figure skating championships for the 2021–22 season took place mainly from December 2021 to January 2022.
