The 2021 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship season was the 7th season of the supersport class of motorcycle racing within the MotoAmerica series. Richie Escalante entered the season as the defending champion, picking up his first MotoAmerica supersport title in 2020. [1] However, the 9-round season concluded with Sean Dylan Kelly picking up his first MotoAmerica supersport title. [2] This was enough to secure Kelly a move to Moto2 for 2022. [3]

AMA Superbike Championship is an American motorcycle racing series that has been run every year beginning in 1976. For most of its existence it has been considered the premier motorcycle road racing series in the United States. It is sanctioned by the AMA American Motorcyclist Association since its inception, and the promotion of the series has been licensed to several organizations over the years. Since 2015 the series has been run and promoted by MotoAmerica, who also manage several other AMA professional road racing championships, including the popular 600cc Supersport class.
Michael Laverty is an occasional motorcycle racer from Toomebridge, Northern Ireland. After participating in the 2017 season in the British Superbike Championship aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1, and the 2018 season on a Tyco BMW, Laverty became a television commentator and occasional rider in Endurance events.
Randy Krummenacher is a Swiss motorcycle racer. He won the Supersport World Championship in 2019.
Jamie Alexander Hacking, nicknamed The Hacker, is a 3 time AMA National champion professional motorcycle racer who has spent his entire career in the United States.
Dominique Aegerter is a Swiss professional circuit racer of solo motorcycles, competing in World superbike Championship. He won the Supersport World Championship in 2021 and 2022. He also won the MotoE World Cup in 2022.
British Supersport Championship is a support series to the British Superbike Championship (BSB) for engine capacities smaller than Superbike. British Supersport runs one or two rounds per weekend at each BSB event. The BSS championship is seen as a stepping stone for the younger talent to progress to the British Superbike Championship or to World level classes. Riders such as: Tom Sykes, Cal Crutchlow, Sam Lowes, Alex Lowes, Jonathan Rea and Leon Camier all raced in this championship during their early careers.
Danilo Carlo Petrucci is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer who has competed in the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship with Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York. After losing his KTM ride in MotoGP at the end of the 2021 season, he entered the 2022 Dakar Rally with a Tech3 KTM rally raid 450 cc machine in January 2022.
Paul Bird Motorsport are a British motorcycle road racing, car racing and rallying organisation. The owner Paul Bird competed as a rally driver and was formerly a solo-rider in motocross. His son Frank is a car racer.
Cameron Charles Beaubier is an American motorcycle racer. He won the MotoAmerica championship 5 times. In 2021 & 2022 he rode a Kalex in the Moto2 World Championship.
Loris Baz is a French motorcycle racer. He is competing for satellite BMW team Bonovo in the 2022 Superbike World Championship, together with Eugene Laverty.
Jason Pridmore is a retired American professional motorcycle racer who turned professional in 1990. He last raced professionally in the 2014 FIM World Endurance Championship on a BMW S1000RR for Team Penz 13. His professional career spanned 22 years, during which he won 21 American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) national races 17 of which are Superstock class wins which is second to Scott Russell. Pridmore was the AMA Formula Extreme Championship in 2002, the AMA 750 Supersport Championship in 1997 as well as the FIM Endurance World Championship title in 2003 & 2012 respectively. In addition to his professional racing career Pridmore instructs motorcyclists through his STAR Motorcycle school and JP43 Training programs. Pridmore also spends time as an expert analyst for Bein Sports coverage of the Moto America championships.
Joe Roberts is an American professional motorcycle racer. Roberts competes in the FIM Moto2 World Championship with Italtrans Racing Team aboard a Kalex chassis bike.
Rory Skinner is a championship winning British motorcycle racer from Perth, Scotland, who also works as a motorcycle mechanic. After the 2019 season in British Supersport on a Kawasaki, for 2020 he moved to Appleyard Yamaha racing. Skinner dominated the 2020 British Supersport Championship, winning the first six races, and was crowned champion after his eighth victory of the season.

The Championship of Texas, formerly known as AutoParts4Less.com MotoAmerica Championship of Texas, for sponsorship reasons, is a MotoAmerica race that was held for the first time in the 2015 season at Circuit of the Americas. It is usually the first or second race on the MotoAmerica schedule. MotoGP and MotoAmerica have raced in the same weekend at Circuit of the Americas from 2015-2019, were due to race again for the 2020 and 2021 season but it got cancelled. For the 2022 season, MotoAmerica will act as a support event for the 2022 Motorcycle Grand Prix of the Americas once again which is scheduled to be on April 8-10.
Sean Dylan Kelly is an American motorcycle racer, competing for the American Racing team in the 2022 Moto2 World Championship. He previously competed in the AMA Supersport Championship with the M4 Ecstar Suzuki team, having won the championship in 2021.
