The 2021 Perth City Council election was held on 16 October 2021 to elect four councillors to the City of Perth. The election was held as part of the statewide local elections in Western Australia. [1]

No election for lord mayor was held, as the term of incumbent Basil Zempilas did not expire until 2023. Four other councillors were also not up for election. [2]

This was the final Perth City Council election to use first-past-the-post. [3]

He is also a member of the Seven Network's AFL football commentary team. Zempilas has commentated on the Olympics and several other major sporting events, was formerly with radio station 92.9 in Perth and has previously been a co-host of Weekend Sunrise. In 2020, Zempilas was elected Lord Mayor of Perth.

The Town of Cottesloe is a local government area in the western suburbs of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. It covers the suburb of the same name as well as a tiny portion of the suburb of Claremont. Cottesloe is located 11 kilometres (7 mi) west of Perth's central business district, covers an area of 3.9 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi), maintains 45.7 km of roads and had a population of approximately 7,500 as at the 2016 Census. Cottesloe is served by Swanbourne, Victoria Street, Grant Street and Cottesloe train stations, all operated through the Fremantle Railway Line.
