Lyudmyla Kichenok and Makoto Ninomiya defeated Caroline Dolehide and Storm Sanders in the final, 6–4, 6–7(3–7), [10–8], to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2021 Nottingham Open. Though it was their first title together as a team, it marked Kichenok's fifth career doubles title on the WTA Tour and Ninomiya's third.

Defending champion Hsieh Su-wei and her partner, Elise Mertens, defeated Veronika Kudermetova and Elena Vesnina in the final, 3–6, 7–5, 9–7, to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. The pair saved two championship points en route to their first major title together.

Nicole Melichar and Květa Peschke were the defending champions but Melichar chose not to participate. Peschke partnered alongside Ellen Perez but lost in the semifinals to Gabriela Dabrowski and Luisa Stefani.

The 2022 Arcadia Women's Pro Open was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the first edition of the tournament which was part of the 2022 ITF Women's World Tennis Tour. It took place in Arcadia, California, United States between 28 February and 6 March 2022.

Laura Siegemund and Vera Zvonareva defeated Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens in the final, 7–6(7–3), 7–5 to win the women's doubles title at the 2022 Miami Open.

Storm Sanders and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Alizé Cornet and Jil Teichmann in the final, 6–4, 6–3 to win doubles tennis title at the 2022 WTA German Open.

Katarzyna Kawa and Tereza Mihalíková were the defending champions but Mihalíková chose not to participate.

Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula defeated Gabriela Dabrowski and Giuliana Olmos in the final, 1–6, 7–5, [10–4] to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 San Diego Open.

Storm Sanders and Luisa Stefani defeated Anna Danilina and Beatriz Haddad Maia in the final, 7–6(7–4), 6–7(2–7), [10–8] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 Guadalajara Open.

Giuliana Olmos and Marcela Zacarías were the defending champions but Olmos chose not to participate. Zacarías partnered alongside Madison Brengle, but the pair withdrew ahead of their quarterfinal match against Abigail Rencheli and Alana Smith.

Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens defeated the defending champions Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková in the final, 6–2, 4–6, [11–9] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 WTA Finals. Mertens became the first Belgian WTA Finals doubles champion.

Ulrikke Eikeri and Ingrid Neel defeated Harriet Dart and Heather Watson in the final, 7–6(8–6), 5–7, [10–8] to win the women's doubles title at the 2023 Nottingham Open.
