The 2022 Ivy League baseball season was the baseball season for the Ivy League as part of the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. Penn and Columbia were regular season co-champions; [1] however, Columbia defeated Penn in the Championship Series to receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. [2]

The 2022 season marks the first season of Ivy League since 2019 since the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States forced the cancellation of the 2020 season and the conference decided to opt out of the 2021 season. [3]

Championship Series

The 2022 Ivy League Baseball Championship Series was held from May 21 and May 22 at Meiklejohn Stadium in Philadelphia. [6] [1] Columbia defeated Penn in three games to win the championship series. [7] [2]

NCAA Tournament

Columbia was the lone team selected for the NCAA tournament by receiving the automatic bid. Columbia was the No. 3 seed in the Blacksburg Regional. They upset ranked-opponent Gonzaga in their opening game, [8] but ultimately lost to host team Virginia Tech in the regional final. [9]

The Yale Bulldogs men's basketball team represents Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, competing in the Ivy League. The team plays home games in the John J. The team was picked by the Ivy League in the pre-season to finish second in the conference. The team finished the season with a 16–14 overall, 9–5 Ivy record and appeared in the Women's National Invitation Tournament, where they lost to Villanova in the first round.

The 2016–17 Columbia Lions women's basketball team represented Columbia University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lions, led by first-year head coach Megan Griffith, played their home games at Levien Gymnasium and were members of the Ivy League. They finished the season 13–14, 3–11 in Ivy League play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They failed to qualify for the Ivy women's tournament, new this year.

The winner, the Princeton Tigers, received the Ivy League's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

The 2021–22 Columbia Lions women's basketball team represented Columbia University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lions, led by sixth-year head coach Megan Griffith, played their home games at Levien Gymnasium and were members of the Ivy League. They finished the season 25–7, 12–2 in Ivy League play to finish in second place behind Princeton. They advanced to the Ivy League women's tournament finals but lost to Princeton 59–77. The Lions accepted a bid to play in the 2022 WNIT and made it to the quarterfinals, losing to Seton Hall 75–78. This was the first time an Ivy League team reached the WNIT quarterfinals.

The 2022–23 Princeton Tigers women's basketball team represents Princeton University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Tigers, led by fourth-year head coach Carla Berube, play their home games at Jadwin Gymnasium as members of the Ivy League. They finished the Ivy League season 12–2, winning a share of the championship alongside the Columbia Lions. The Tigers won the 2023 Ivy League women's basketball tournament, their fourth championship title, and earned an automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, the team's tenth appearance. They lost to Utah in the Second Round.
