The 2022 Missouri Valley Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Missouri Valley Conference held from October 27 through November 6, 2022. The Opening round and Second round was held at campus sites. The semifinals and finals took place at Brown Field in Valparaiso, Indiana. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of four rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Loyola Ramblers, who did not defend their title as they moved to the A-10 Conference. [1] [2] The tournament champions were the Missouri State Bears who defeated Murray State 1–0 in the final. [3] The conference tournament title was the third for the Missouri State women's soccer program, and first for head coach Kirk Nelson. The championship was the first since 2017 for Missouri State. [4] As tournament champions, Missouri State earned the Missouri Valley's automatic berth into the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.
Eight of the eleven Missouri Valley Conference women's soccer programs qualified for the 2022 Tournament. Teams were seeded based on their regular season records. A tiebreaker was required to determine the third and fourth seeds between Southern Illinois and UIC as both teams finished the regular season with 5–2–3 conference records. UIC claimed the third seed by virtue of a 1–0 win over Southern Illinois on the last day of the regular season. UNI and Belmont both finished the season tied with twelve points after regular season play, leaving a tiebreaker required for the sixth and seventh seeds. UNI was awarded the sixth seed based on cumulative record against teams above them in the standings because their regular season match ended in a 0–0 draw. UNI was 0–2–3 against teams above them, earning three points, while Belmont was 0–4–1 against teams above them, only earning one point. [5]

The Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer tournament is the conference championship tournament in soccer for the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). The tournament has been held every year since the MVC began men's soccer competition in 1991. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season conference records. The winner, declared conference champion, receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I men's soccer championship.

The opening round matches of the tournament were held at campus sites, while the semifinals and final took place at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium in Springfield, Missouri. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Illinois State Redbirds, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament with a 1–0 loss to the Northern Iowa Panthers in the opening round. The Missouri State Lady Bears won the tournament with a 1–0 win over Northern Iowa in the final. The conference tournament title was the second for the Missouri State women's soccer program, both of which have come under the direction of head coach Rob Brewer.
The 2017–18 Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team represented Loyola University Chicago during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Ramblers, led by seventh-year head coach Porter Moser, played their home games at the Joseph J. Gentile Arena in Chicago. They were members of the Missouri Valley Conference. With a win against Evansville on February 18, 2018, Loyola clinched at least a share of its first-ever Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship. With a win over Southern Illinois on February 21, the Ramblers clinched the outright MVC championship. The Ramblers defeated Northern Iowa, Bradley, and Illinois State to win the MVC tournament. As a result, the Ramblers received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. As the No. 11 seed in the South Region, they upset No. 6-seeded Miami (FL) on a last second three-pointer. In the Second Round, they defeated No. 3-seeded Tennessee to earn the school's first trip to the Sweet Sixteen since 1985. They then defeated Nevada in the Sweet Sixteen and Kansas State in the Elite Eight to advance to the Final Four for the first time since 1963. Their Cinderella run ended with a loss to the eventual runner-up Michigan in the national semifinal.
The 2018–19 Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team represented Loyola University Chicago during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Ramblers, led by seventh-year head coach Porter Moser, played their home games at the Joseph J. Gentile Arena in Chicago, Illinois. They were members of the Missouri Valley Conference. They finished the season 20–14, 12–6 in MVC play to earn a share of the MVC regular season championship. As the No. 1 seed in the MVC tournament, they beat Valparaiso before losing to Bradley in the semifinals. As a regular season conference champion who did not win their tournament championship, the Ramblers received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament as the No. 7 seed in the TCU bracket. There they lost in the first round to Creighton.

The tournament was held at the Vibrant Arena at The MARK in Moline, Illinois, from March 9–12, 2023. Drake won the tournament, claiming the MVC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
