The 2022 Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship was the inaugural tournament of Shakey's Super League.

Contents

The tournament was held on September 24 to November 19, 2022, at Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Manila. It features 18 collegiate teams from the two most prominent collegiate athletics associations in the country — NCAA and UAAP. [1] [2] [3] [4]

NU Lady Bulldogs defeated De La Salle Lady Spikers (3–0) in the championship match and crowned as the inaugural champions of the tournament. [5] De La Salle Lady Spikers settled for silver. Adamson Lady Falcons won the bronze after a hard-fought 5 sets against UST Golden Tigresses in the 3rd place match. [6]

Format

This tournament will implement the "All to Play" system in its games, where teams will field all the players on the roster who will be given a chance to play in a match. It is a system where a team will be fielding different players (except Libero) to play in the first two sets. The substitution will take effect when the set score reaches 16. Starting from the 3rd set onwards, the standard play will return. This is the competition format that will be conducted for the entirety of the conference. [8]

First round
  1. Single-round robin format; 4 pools; Teams are ranked using the FIVB Ranking System.
  2. The top two teams per pool will advance to the second round.
Second round
  1. Single-round robin format; 2 pools; Teams are ranked using the FIVB Ranking System.
  2. The W-L record in the first round will be carried over in the second round.
  3. After another pool play, the eight teams will battle in the crossover quarterfinals.
Quarterfinals (knockout stage)
  1. QF1: E1 vs. F4
  2. QF3: F2 vs. E3
  3. QF2: F1 vs. E4
  4. QF4: E2 vs. F3
Semifinals (knockout stage)
  1. SF1: QF #1 vs. QF #3
  2. SF2: QF #2 vs. QF #4

Pool standing procedure

  4. Points ratio
  5. If the tie continues as per the point ratio between two teams, the priority will be given to the team which won the last match between them. When the tie in points ratio is between three or more teams, a new classification of these teams in the terms of points 1, 2 and 3 will be made taking into consideration only the matches in which they were opposed to each other.

Match won 3–0 or 3–1: 3 match points for the winner, 0 match points for the loser

Match won 3–2: 2 match points for the winner, 1 match point for the loser.

The Shakey's V-League 9th Season: 1st Conference is the sixteenth conference of Shakey's V-League, a collegiate women's volleyball league in the Philippines founded in 2004. The opening ceremonies was held on April 24, 2012, with the first doubleheader of volleyball games at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan. After a two-year hiatus, the Tigresses of the University of Santo Tomas, the winningest team of the league, participates the conference with other nine teams.

The UST Golden Tigresses are the women’s collegiate varsity volleyball team of the UST Growling Tigers, representing the University of Santo Tomas in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Their head coach as of April 17, 2015 is former Golden Spiker Kungfu Reyes.

The 2019 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference was the seventh conference of the Premier Volleyball League. Conference started on May 26, 2019. Grand Fans Day was held at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City on April 25, 2019. Games were held at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan, Philippines. Philippine Army returned as Pacific Town-Army Lady Troopers and Motolite Power Builders returned with a new set of players.

The 2019 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference was the ninth conference of the Premier Volleyball League. The conference started on August 17, 2019, and ended on October 12, 2019, at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. Defending champions University of the Philippines skipped this conference, while reigning University Athletic Association of the Philippines champion Ateneo de Manila University returned after sitting out the 2018 collegiate conference.

The 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference was the eighth conference of the Premier Volleyball League. The conference started on August 11, 2019 and ended on November 9, 2019 at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. Philippine Air Force Women's Volleyball Team returned in action and two new teams joined the conference named Chef's Classics Lady Red Spikers and Choco Mucho Flying Titans.

The UAAP Season 82 volleyball tournaments started on September 4, 2019 with the junior tournaments and on March 3, 2020 for the senior tournaments. The games were played at the Filoil Flying V Centre, Mall of Asia Arena, Smart Araneta Coliseum, PhilSports Arena and the Blue Eagle Gym. The volleyball tournament commissioner is Noreen Go.

The 2022 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference was the eleventh conference of the Premier Volleyball League and its second conference as a professional league.
