Serena Williams defeated Martina Hingis in the final, 6–3, 7–6(7–4) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1999 US Open. It was her first major singles title, the first of an eventual Open Era joint-record six US Open titles, and the first of an eventual Open Era record 23 major singles titles. Williams became the first African American woman in the Open Era to win a singles major.

Hana Mandlíková defeated the two-time defending champion Martina Navratilova in the final, 7–6(7–3), 1–6, 7–6(7–2) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1985 US Open.
Monica Seles defeated Martina Navratilova in the final, 7–6(7–1), 6–1 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1991 US Open. It was her third major title of the year. With the win, Seles recaptured the world No. 1 ranking from Steffi Graf, and would hold it until her 1993 stabbing.

Ashleigh Barty and Jennifer Brady defeated Desirae Krawczyk and Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the final, 6–4, 5–7, [10–5], to win the doubles tennis title at the 2021 Stuttgart Open. By winning her 12th career WTA Tour doubles title, Barty became the first player since Lindsay Davenport in 2001 to sweep both tournaments in Stuttgart. This was also Brady's first career WTA Tour doubles title.
Hsieh Su-wei and Elise Mertens defeated Veronika Kudermetova and Elena Rybakina in the final, 7–6(7–1), 6–3, to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters. It was Hsieh's third title at the tournament and her 30th career doubles title overall. Mertens successfully defended her title to win for a second time after she first won the tournament in 2019 with Aryna Sabalenka, who chose not to defend her title.
Rafael Matos and David Vega Hernández defeated Ariel Behar and Gonzalo Escobar in the final, 7–6(7–5), 6–7(6–8), [10–1] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 Mallorca Championships. The pair earned their second ATP Tour doubles title of the season and first grass victory together.
Ruben Bemelmans and Daniel Masur were the defending champions but only Masur chose to defend his title, partnering Marco Bortolotti. They withdrew before their first round match.
