Jonas Björkman and Todd Woodbridge successfully defended their title, defeating Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi in the final, 3–6, 6–3, 7–6(7–4), 6–3, to win the gentlemen's doubles title at the 2003 Wimbledon Championships
Three-time defending champion Kei Nishikori successfully defended his title, defeating Taylor Fritz in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the singles title at the 2016 Memphis Open. Notably, this was only Fritz' third career event on the ATP Tour.
Kei Nishikori was the four-time defending champion, but chose to compete in Buenos Aires instead.
Stan Wawrinka was the two-time defending champion but lost to Márton Fucsovics in the quarterfinals.

Cristian Garín defeated Casper Ruud in the final, 7–6(7–4), 4–6, 6–3, to win the singles tennis title at the 2019 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships. The win earned Garín his first career Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles title and made him the first Chilean ATP title holder in ten years. Ruud was also in contention to win his first ATP Tour title after reaching his first final, joining father Christian Ruud as the only two Norwegian players to reach a final at this level.

Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert defeated Alexander Bublik and Andrey Golubev in the final, 4–6, 7–6(7–1), 6–4, to win the men's doubles title at the 2021 French Open. It was their second French Open title and fifth major title together. They saved match points in their semifinal match against Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah. Bublik and Golubev became the first male Kazakh players to reach a major final.
Pablo Carreño Busta and Alex de Minaur were the defending champions, but Carreño Busta chose not to defend his title and de Minaur played alongside Cameron Norrie instead. They lost in the quarterfinals to Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.
Sergio Casal and Emilio Sánchez successfully defended their title by defeating Carl-Uwe Steeb and Michael Stich in the final, 5–7, 6–4, 6–3.
Ken Flach and Robert Seguso were the defending champions, but Robert Seguso chose not to participate. Flach partnered with Todd Witsken, but lost in the quarterfinals to Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge.

Defending champion William Blumberg and his partner Steve Johnson defeated Raven Klaasen and Marcelo Melo in the final, 6–4, 7–5 to win the men's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Hall of Fame Open.
Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury defeated Tim Pütz and Michael Venus in the final, 7–6(7–4), 7–6(7–5) to win the men's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Cincinnati Masters.
Dennis Novak was the defending champion but lost in the semifinals to Arthur Cazaux.
Nicolás Jarry defeated Grigor Dimitrov in the final, 7–6(7–1), 6–1 to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 Geneva Open.
Taylor Fritz defeated Aleksandar Vukic in the final, 7–5, 6–7(5–7), 6–4 to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 Atlanta Open. It was his sixth ATP Tour singles title.
