The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Its current 11 full members are located in four Northeastern states: Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. It was announced on October 23, 2023 that Sacred Heart University and Merrimack College will join the conference beginning in the 2024-25 season.
Marist College is a private university in Poughkeepsie, New York. Founded in 1905, Marist was formed by the Marist Brothers, a Catholic religious institute, to prepare brothers for their vocations as educators. In 2003, it became a secular institution.
Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in Poughkeepsie, New York. It is home to the Marist College Red Foxes football team and Kingston Stockade FC of the National Premier Soccer League. The field was named after Alex Leonidoff, a local physician and avid Marist Athletics supporter. The facility opened in 1968. At the conclusion of the 2006 football season, the existing grandstand was removed to make way for a more modern, updated facility including modern press boxes, luxury suites, home and away locker rooms, an athletic training room as well as a new concession stand. On October 6, 2007 began with the dedication of Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field. The stadium's name honors Tim Tenney, CEO of Pepsi-Cola of the Hudson Valley, who provided the lead gift for the stadium renovation project. Additionally, the grass natural turf surface was replaced with Field Turf synthetic surface.
Marist Catholic High School is a private Roman Catholic, college preparatory school in Eugene, Oregon, United States founded by the Marist Brothers. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Portland.

Prior to joining the MAAC in 1997, Marist was a charter member of the ECAC Metro Conference in 1981; which became the Northeast Conference in 1988.

The team is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The team plays its home games at James J. McCann Baseball Field in Poughkeepsie, New York. Baseball was added to the Marist Athletic Department in the fall of 1990 and their inaugural season was 1991. The Red Foxes are coached by Lance Ratchford.

They were led by 22nd year head coach Jim Parady and played their home games at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field. They were a member of the Pioneer Football League. They finished the season 8–3, 7–1 in PFL play to finish in a tie for the league title with Butler. Marist lost a tie-breaker to Butler and did not receive the league's automatic bid to the FCS playoffs and did not receive and at-large bid.

The Red Foxes, led by first year head coach Jeff Bower, played their home games at the McCann Arena and were members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 12–19, 9–11 in MAAC play to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place. They lost in the first round of the MAAC tournament to Niagara. On June 2, 2014, head coach Jeff Bower resigned after one season to take the General manager position with the Detroit Pistons. On June 17, 2014, Marist hired Mike Maker as their new head coach.
