The 2023 NBL Uganda season was the 27th season of the National Basketball League of Uganda, organised by the FUBA. The season began on 19 March and ended on 25 October 2023.
The City Oilers won a record-extending 9th consecutive national championship, after edging the KIU Titans 4–2 in the finals of the playoffs. [1] The season was marked by the withdrawal of second-seeded Namuwongo Blazers ahead of the playoffs. [2]

The regular season began on 19 March and ended 10 September 2023. [3] The Namuwongo Blazers withdrew from the league ahead of the playoffs as a protest by the federation's decision that the winner of the previous season had already qualified for the 2024 BAL qualification. [2]

Aron John Baynes is an Australian professional basketball player for the Brisbane Bullets of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for Washington State University before starting his professional career in Europe. In 2013, he joined the San Antonio Spurs, and a year later, won an NBA championship with the Spurs. He has also played with the Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, and Toronto Raptors. Baynes also plays for the Australian national team.
The National Basketball League of Canada was a Canadian professional men's minor league basketball organization. The NBL Canada was founded in 2011, when three existing Premier Basketball League teams joined with four new franchises for the league's inaugural season. The league changed in size multiple times and had four active teams in its final season, all in Ontario, but historically the NBLC had several located in the Atlantic provinces. The league's season typically ran from November to April of the following year. The final league champions were the London Lightning, who defeated the Windsor Express 3–2 in the 2023 NBL Finals.
Samuel Timmins is a New Zealand professional basketball player for the Sydney Kings of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). He is also contracted with the Franklin Bulls of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL). He played college basketball for the Washington Huskies. In 2022, he helped the Otago Nuggets win the NZNBL championship.
Ethan Rusbatch is a New Zealand basketball player for the Franklin Bulls of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL). He began his New Zealand NBL career in 2012 with the Southland Sharks after spending one season in the United States playing college basketball for Lincoln Trail College. Robinson Odoch Opong is a Ugandan professional basketball player who last played for Rivers Hoopers of the Nigerian Premier League (NPL) and the Basketball Africa League (BAL). He also plays for the Uganda national basketball team.
Stephen Omony though some sources mention March 23, 1980, is an Ugandan professional basketball player. He currently plays for the City Oilers of Uganda’s National Basketball League (NBL).
James Okello is a Ugandan basketball player, who plays for City Oilers and the Uganda national basketball team.
Landry Ndikumana is a Burundian basketball player for Pazi and the Burundi national team. He is a 1.98 m tall small forward and has played professionally in Burundi, Uganda and Tanzania. Ndikumana was the NBL Uganda MVP and Playoffs MVP in the 2019 season.

Namuwongo Blazers, commonly known as Nam Blazers, are an Ugandan basketball team based in Namuwongo, Kampala. They are playing in the NBL Uganda, the country's top level league.
The 2023 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 3, was the third season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 11 March 2023 and ended on 27 May 2023. The playoffs were played in the BK Arena in Kigali, which hosted the final stage for a third season in a row. The regular season was played in Dakar, Senega and Cairo, Egypt, both venues hosted a conference for a second year in a row.

The 2024 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 4, will be the 4th season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season will begin on 9 March 2024 and will finish with the final on 1 June 2024, which will be played in the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, for a fourth consecutive season.
The qualification for the 2024 BAL season, also known as Road to BAL 2024, was the 4th edition of the qualifying tournaments for the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The tournaments were organised by FIBA Africa and are held from 3 October to 26 November 2023. The format was the same as to the previous seasons, with the competition divided in the group phase and the elite 16.
