The 2023 Tennessee Lady Volunteers softball team was an American softball team that represented the University of Tennessee during the 2023 Southeastern Conference softball season and the 2023 NCAA Division I softball season. The team played their home games at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee, and was coached by Karen Weekly in her 21st season. The team won the Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament, which earned them an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I tournament. [3]
In May, Weekly was named SEC Softball Coach of the Year, and pitcher Karlyn Pickens was named SEC Softball Freshman of the Year. [4]

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is an American college athletic conference whose member institutions are located primarily in the South Central and Southeastern United States. Its 16 members include the flagship public universities of 12 states, three additional public land-grant universities, and one private research university. The conference is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. The SEC participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I in sports competitions. In football, it is part of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A.
The Florida Gators softball team represents the University of Florida in the sport of softball. Florida competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Gators play their home games at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus, and are currently led by head coach Tim Walton. In the twenty-six year history of the Florida Softball program, the team has won two Women's College World Series (WCWS) national championships, nine SEC regular season championships, five SEC tournament championships, and have made eleven WCWS appearances.
The Tennessee Lady Volunteers softball team represents the University of Tennessee (UT) in Knoxville, Tennessee in NCAA Division I women's softball competition. Coached by Karen Weekly, the team has become a consistently top-tier team in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), appearing in every NCAA tournament since 2004, and qualifying for 8 Women's College World Series.
Clemson Tigers softball joined the Atlantic Coast Conference as a Division I varsity program in 2020. In November 2017, former Stanford coach John Rittman was named as Clemson's first head softball coach. Rittman spent the previous two years as an assistant coach at Kansas and USA Softball.
The 2019 NCAA Division I Softball season, play of college softball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began February 7, 2019. The season will progress through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and will conclude with the 2019 NCAA Division I softball tournament and 2019 Women's College World Series. The Women's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament will be held annually in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, will end in June 2019.

The 2021 Arkansas Razorbacks softball team represented the University of Arkansas in the 2021 NCAA Division I softball season. The Razorbacks were led by sixth-year head coach Courtney Deifel and played their home games at Bogle Park.
The 2021 Ole Miss Rebels softball team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2021 NCAA Division I softball season. The Rebels played their home games at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.

The championship game, as well as the semifinals, were broadcast on ESPN2, while all other tournament games were televised on the SEC Network.
The 2021 Alabama Crimson Tide softball team was an American college softball team that represented the University of Alabama during the 2021 NCAA Division I softball season. The Crimson Tide were led by Patrick Murphy in his twenty-second season, and played their home games at Rhoads Stadium. They competed in the Southeastern Conference, where they finished the season with a 52–9 record and an 18-6 conference record.
The 2022 Ole Miss Rebels softball team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2022 NCAA Division I softball season. The Rebels played their home games at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.
The 2022 Southeastern Conference Softball Tournament, played for the 2022 Southeastern Conference softball season, was the postseason softball tournament that determined the 2022 champion of the Southeastern Conference. It was held at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium on the campus of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, from May 10–14, 2022. As the tournament winner, Arkansas earned the Southeastern Conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I softball tournament. The championship game, as well as the semifinals, were broadcast on ESPN2, while all other tournament games were televised on the SEC Network.
The 2023 SEC softball season began play Thursday, February 9, and conference play began on Friday, March 10. Tennessee clinched the regular season conference championship on May 6. Tennessee also won the 2023 Southeastern Conference softball tournament which took place from May 9–13 at Bogle Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Vanderbilt University is the only full member of the Southeastern Conference to not sponsor a softball program. Of the 13 teams in the SEC, 12 played in the NCAA tournament. Of the top 16 seeds hosting Regionals, five are from the SEC. Three of the five win their Regionals, being the only SEC teams to win Regionals. Two of the three win their Super Regionals and advance to the 2023 Women's College World Series (WCWS).
