The 2023 Tottori gubernatorial election was held on 9 April 2023 to elect the next governor of Tottori. The incumbent Liberal Democratic Party governor won in a landslide re-election. It was held as part of the 2023 Japanese unified local elections.
Miho Airbase (美保飛行場), also known as Yonago Airport is a Japan Air Defense Force (JASDF) base located 11 km northwest of Yonago in Tottori Prefecture. It is owned and operated by JASDF and shares the runway with civil activities.
The 11th Okinawa gubernatorial election was held on November 28, 2010. The official campaign start began November 11. The Tottori at-large district was a constituency that represents Tottori Prefecture in the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan. Councillors are elected to the house by single non-transferable vote (SNTV) for six-year terms. Since the establishment of the current House of Councillors electoral system in 1947, the district has elected two Councillors, one each at elections held every three years. With its 474,963 registered voters it is the smallest electoral district for the house. Accordingly, a 2015 revision of the Public Officers Election Law will see the district merged with the Shimane At-large district to create the Tottori-Shimane At-large district; this change took effect at the 2016 election, at which one Councillor was elected.
The Tottori-Shimane at-large district is a constituency of the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan. It was formed pursuant to a 2015 revision of the Public Officers Election Law from a merger of the Tottori and Shimane at-large districts, the two smallest districts in the country, to address the imbalance in representation between rural and urban voters. The district has 1,068,348 registered voters and was contested for the first time at the House of Councillors election that was held on 10 July 2016.
Satoshi Mitazono is a Japanese politician and journalist who is the former governor of Kagoshima Prefecture. He defeated the incumbent Yūichirō Itō at an election held on 10 July 2016.
Okinawa 3rd district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It is located in Okinawa Prefecture and encompasses the cities of Nago, Okinawa, Uruma, Kunigami District and parts of Shimajiri District. As of 2016, 312,171 eligible voters were registered in the district.
The 2019 Hokkaido gubernatorial election was held on 7 April 2019 to elect the next governor of Hokkaido Prefecture. After serving four terms, incumbent Governor Harumi Takahashi decided not to seek re-election. The election resulted in a landslide victory for Naomichi Suzuki, the former mayor of Yūbari, who won 62% of the popular vote. His opponent, Tomohiro Ishikawa, had the support of CDP, JCP, SDP and DPFP, but only managed to secure 37% of the vote.
A gubernatorial election was held on 7 April 2019 to elect the next governor of Shimane.
Naomichi Suzuki is a Japanese politician who currently serves as Governor of Hokkaidō. He previously served as mayor of Yūbari city for two consecutive terms from 2011 to 2019. He had also served in Regional Sovereignty Strategy Office of Cabinet Office and as a chief of General Affairs Division in General Affairs Department at Tokyo Governor's Office.

Taisuke Ono is a Japanese politician who currently serves as a member of the House of Representatives as a member of the Japan Innovation Party, having been elected in the 2021 Japanese general election from the Tokyo proportional representation block. He previously served as Deputy Governor of Kumamoto Prefecture under Ikuo Kabashima for eight years. He also ran in the 2020 Tokyo gubernatorial election under the Innovation banner, winning 612,530 votes and 9.99% of the vote.
The 2020 Kyoto mayoral election was held on February 2, 2020. Incumbent mayor Daisaku Kadokawa ran for a forth term, against JCP-backed independent Kazuto Fukuyama and former Kyoto Party Independent Shōei Murayama. Kadokawa won by a margin of nearly ten points, making him one of the longest serving mayors of Kyoto.
The 2023 Hokkaido gubernatorial election was held on 10 April 2019 to elect the next governor of Hokkaido Prefecture. It was held as part of the 2023 Japanese unified local elections. The incumbent governor of Hokkaido, independent candidate, Naomichi Suzuki, won a landslide victory against Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan candidate Maki Ikeda.
