Elixane Lechemia and Ingrid Neel defeated Mihaela Buzărnescu and Anna-Lena Friedsam in the final, 6–3, 6–4, to win the doubles tennis title at the 2021 Copa Colsanitas. It was the duo's first individual career Women's Tennis Association (WTA) doubles titles.
Defending champion Hsieh Su-wei and her partner, Elise Mertens, defeated Veronika Kudermetova and Elena Vesnina in the final, 3–6, 7–5, 9–7, to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. The pair saved two championship points en route to their first major title together.
Samantha Stosur and Zhang Shuai defeated Coco Gauff and Caty McNally in the final, 6–3, 3–6, 6–3 to win the women's doubles title at the 2021 US Open. It was Stosur's fourth major title in women's doubles and eighth major overall, as well as Zhang's second major title; this was the team's second major title, following the 2019 Australian Open. This was the first major final for Gauff and for McNally.
Kaitlyn Christian and Lidziya Marozava defeated Wang Xinyu and Zhu Lin in the final, 7–5, 6–3 to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 Abierto Zapopan.
Astra Sharma and Aldila Sutjiadi defeated Emina Bektas and Tara Moore in the final, 4–6, 6–4, [11–9], to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 Copa Colsanitas. The win earned Sharma her second Copa Colsanitas doubles title after first winning in 2019, and Sutjiadi her first career Women's Tennis Association (WTA) title.
Miriam Kolodziejová and Jesika Malečková were the defending champions but both players chose to participate with different partners. Kolodziejová partnered with Anastasia Dețiuc, but lost in the first round to Sada Nahimana and Alexandra Osborne. Malečková partnered alongside Vera Lapko, but lost in the semifinals to Elixane Lechemia and Julia Lohoff.
This is the first edition of the event as a WTA 125 tournament. It was part of the ITF Women's Circuit from 2016 to 2018. Alexandra Cadanțu and Chantal Škamlová were the champions when the event was last held in 2018, but neither player participates this year.

The 2023 Vero Beach International Tennis Open was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the fourth edition of the tournament and was part of the 2023 ITF Women's World Tennis Tour. It took place in Vero Beach, United States between 16 and 22 January 2023.
Nao Hibino and Oksana Kalashnikova defeated Quinn Gleason and Elixane Lechemia in the final, 6–7(7–9), 7–5, [10–3] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2023 Prague Open. It was the second time that Hibino won the singles and doubles titles at the same WTA Tour tournament, following the 2019 Japan Women's Open.
Francesca Di Lorenzo and Makenna Jones were the defending champions, but Di Lorenzo retired from professional tennis last summer, and Jones chose not to participate.
