The 2024 ESPY Awards, the 32nd annual ceremony of the ESPY Awards, was held on July 11, 2024, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and broadcast by ABC.
On May 14, 2024, it was announced that tennis player Serena Williams would host the ceremony, becoming the fourth woman to host the ESPY awards, following Danica Patrick, Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird, as well as the first African American female athlete to host. [1] [2] The nominees were announced on June 26, 2024. [3] Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex was the recipient of the Pat Tillman Award in recognition of his service in the British Armed Forces and work with the Invictus Games. [4]

The Best Female Athlete ESPY Award, known alternatively as the Outstanding Female Athlete ESPY Award, has been presented annually at the ESPY Awards since 1993 to the female voted to be, irrespective of nationality or sport contested, the best athlete in a given calendar year. The ESPY Award for Best College Athlete, Men's Sports, known before 2021 as the Best Male College Athlete ESPY Award, is an annual award honoring the achievements of a male individual from the world of collegiate sports. It was first presented as part of the ESPY Awards in 2002, following the subsumption of the Best College Football Player and Best Male College Basketball Player ESPY Awards, each of which had been presented annually between 1993 and 2001, inclusive. The Arthur Ashe Courage Award is presented as part of the ESPY Awards. It is named for the American tennis player Arthur Ashe. Although it is a sport-oriented award, it is not limited to sports-related people or actions, as it is presented annually to individuals whose contributions "transcend sports". This was the first show to take place in July instead of March or April.
