The Waterford Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1897 for the top hurling teams in the county of Waterford in Ireland.
Waterford Intermediate Hurling Championship is a third-tier hurling competition organised by the Waterford Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association.The final is contested by the winners of the Western and Eastern intermediate championships. The winning club progresses to the premier intermediate grade the following year for the Waterford Premier Intermediate hurling championship. Each of the two divisions of Waterford GAA - East Division and West Division - organises its own competition, with the two winners contesting the county final. Until 2022 the winners of this competition were promoted to the senior ranks for the subsequence season, when in 2022 it was decided that a premier intermediate grade would be introduced.
The Nire—Fourmilewater GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ballymacarbry, County Waterford in Ireland. The Nire and Fourmilewater are two separate clubs, with separate committees pulling from the same pool of players. The Nire is the Gaelic football club in the area and Fourmilewater the hurling club. Both teams play in the Mill Field, Ballymacarbry. The Nire is a half parish with Touraneena, while Fourmilewater is a half parish with Newcastle, County Tipperary.
