The 2025 IIHF Women's World Championship Division III comprises two international ice hockey tournaments of the 2025 Women's Ice Hockey World Championships organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). [1]
Group A will be held in Belgrade, Serbia from 2 to 8 March and Group B will be held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 13 to 18 February 2025.

The 2019 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships was the 43rd edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship. It began on December 26, 2018, and ended with the gold medal game being played on January 5, 2019. This marked the 15th time that Canada hosted the WJC.
The 2018 IIHF Women's U18 World Championship was the 11th Women's U18 World Championship in ice hockey. It was played at the Ice Palace in Dmitrov, Russia from 6 to 13 January 2018. The USA won for the seventh time, for the first time defeating someone other than Canada in the gold medal game. Sweden took silver, while Canada took bronze beating host Russia. The Russians beat Canada in the preliminary round, marking another first.
The 2025 IIHF World Championship will be co-hosted by Stockholm, Sweden, and Herning, Denmark, from 9 to 25 May 2025. This decision regarding Sweden was made at the 2018 semi-annual International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) congress in Malta, and was officially announced on 24 May 2019, at the IIHF's annual congress during the World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia. At the same time, it was announced that Denmark would co-host the championship.
The 2019 IIHF Women's U18 World Championship was the 12th Women's U18 World Championship in ice hockey. It was played at the Obihiro Arena in Obihiro, Japan from 6 to 13 January.
Qualification for the men's tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics was determined by the IIHF World Ranking following the 2019 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships. The host along with the top eight teams in the world ranking received automatic berths into the Olympics, while all other teams have an opportunity to qualify for the remaining three spots in the Olympics.
The 2020 IIHF Women's World Championship was scheduled to be an international ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was scheduled to be contested in Halifax and Truro, Canada, from 31 March to 10 April 2020.
The 2025 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships will be the 49th Ice Hockey World Junior Championship. It will begin on December 26, 2024, and will end with the gold medal game being played on January 5, 2025. The United States will enter the tournament as the defending champions after defeating Sweden 6–2 in 2024 final.
The 2023 IIHF Women's U18 World Championship was the 15th Women's U18 World Championship in ice hockey which took place in Östersund, Sweden, January 8–15, 2023.
The 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship was the 25th such event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participated at several levels of competition. These tournaments served as qualifications for the 2025 competition.
Qualification for the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2026 Winter Olympics will be determined by the IIHF World Ranking following the 2024 Women's Ice Hockey World Championships. The host along with the top six teams in the world ranking receive automatic berths into the Olympics, while all other teams have an opportunity to qualify for the remaining three spots. The participation of Russia is not yet confirmed and depends on if the team is allowed to return to the IIHF Championship program.
