2025 Indian Super Cup (October) group stage

The 2025 Super Cup's October edition held in Goa from October 25 to November 22, 2025. It was held at the start of the season, unlike earlier seasons due to scheduling changes. A total of 16 teams, consisting of 13 ISL and 3 I-League, compete in the group stage to decide the 4 places in the knockout stage. ^[1]

Draw

The draw for the group stage will conducted at the AIFF Football House in New Delhi on Thursday, 25 September 2025. ^{[1] [2]}

12 ISL (excluding Odisha) and 6 I-League (Inter Kashi FC, Real Kashmir FC, Gokulam Kerala FC, Rajasthan United, Dempo SC and Namdhari FC) teams confirmed their participation in the Kalinga Super Cup. ^[2] The top four of I-League teams, as per the 2024–25 I-League standings, qualified directly for the Super Cup group stage as I-League 1, I-League 2, I-League 3 and I-League 4, respectively. ^{[3] [2]}

Mohun Bagan Super Giant and FC Goa, the top two ISL teams were be placed at the top in Group A & B as A1 and B1 respectively. The rest of the teams were divided into two pots, with the 10 Indian Super League teams, placed in Pots 1, according to their points in the 2024–25 ISL. Then the 10 ISL teams will fill spots in four groups. First two team drawn from Pot 1 will be placed in Group C and D and will take position C1 and D1 respectively and so on. The four I-League teams were in Pot 2. ^[4] Teams drawn from Pot 2 will be placed sequentially in the four groups. ^[2]

Format

Each group was played in a single round-robin format. The top team advanced to the knockout stage. ^[1]

Tiebreakers

The teams were ranked according to points. When tied on points, tiebreakers were applied in the following order:

1. Points in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
2. Goal difference in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
3. Goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
4. If more than two teams are tied, and after applying all head-to-head criteria above, a subset of teams are still tied, all head-to-head criteria above are reapplied exclusively to this subset of teams;
5. Goal difference in all group matches;
6. Goals scored in all group matches;
7. Drawing of lots.
