The 2025 World Men's Handball Championship qualification decided who qualified for the 2025 World Men's Handball Championship in Croatia, Denmark and Norway. Qualifying occurred between February 2023 and June 2024. The championship will feature 32 teams for the third time.

The World Championship hosts will be directly qualified, along with the reigning world champions. In regards to the 12 performance spots, and based on the results of the 2023 Men's World Championship, Europe receives 11 more spots, while Africa takes 1.

Sixteen teams competed in the Asian Championship, held at the Sheikh Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town, Bahrain, from 11 to 25 January 2024. [4] The top 4 reached the world championship. Since New Zealand, failed to make the top 5 of the championship, Oceania's spot was made into a second wildcard. Bahrain, Kuwait, Japan and Qatar reached the world championship. [5] [6] [7] [8]

Sixteen teams competed in the African Championship, held in Cairo, Egypt, from 17 to 27 January 2024. [9] The top five from the championship qualified. Those teams ended up being Algeria, Cape Verde, Egypt, Guinea and Tunisia. [10] [11]

The championship will be held from 6 to 12 May 2024 in Mexico where the winner secures the regional ticket. [14] Had the United States won, second place would've taken the ticket. Cuba were victorious and qualified for the World Championship. [15]

Six teams competed in the South and Central American Championship, held at the La Casa del Handball Argentino in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 16 to 20 January 2024. [16] The top three from the championship qualified. Brazil, Argentina and Chile would finish in top three and advance to the world championship. [17] [18] Brazil were the first country from any region to qualify on 18 January 2024. [19]

After no Oceanian team achieved a top 5 finish in the Asian Championship, two wildcards were given out by the IHF. United States was given the first wildcard on 18 October 2018, in order to prepare them for the 2028 Summer Olympics which they are hosting. [2] [3] Regarding the second wildcard, 12 nations reportedly applied, with 2 of the applicants unknown. [20]
On 23 May 2024, Switzerland was given the second wildcard by the IHF due to multiple reasons: their sporting merit, their commercial reach, their project and the IHF's TV partner asked the Swiss to be picked. [23] [24] [25] Prior to their selection, Switzerland's coach, Andy Schmid, stated that after their narrow penalty shootout loss to Slovenia, The Swiss' performance merited a wildcard. [26] [27]

The Egyptian Handball League is the premier professional handball league in Egypt. It was founded in 1958. The league, which is played under CAHB rules, currently consists of 18 teams, including famous ones like Zamalek SC, Al Ahly SC, Sporting, Gezira SC and Smouha SC. The Egyptian Handball League was overseen by EHF.

The author is also listed as top contributor to Unpublished Ottawa, Canada's only social media website dedicated to current affairs. In a study published by the Center of Studies for Arab Unity, Dr. Abdelatif Hannachi cited Harrak'a article "Salafi Revisionism" in his research on Islamic movements in the Arab world. The Moroccan Al Aan weekly magazine qualified Harrak's analysis of Shi'ism in the country as most scientific and elaborate after his interview with journalist Aziz El Hor. In his study of Sunni extremism, Iraqi leftist journalist Saeb Khalil cited Harrak's work on Shiaphobia and its sociopolitical manifestations in the Arab world. In an article on Moroccan popular culture, philanthropist Ali Issa Alwabari, from the International Center for Research and Studies, relied heavily on Harrak's essay regarding the role of Fatima Zahra in the Moroccan popular culture.

The GCC Games is a regional multi-sport event which involves participants from the Gulf Cooperation Council region. The GCC Games, a quadrennial multi-sport event, was established by the union and first held in 2011. There are numerous long-running GCC Championships for individual sports, including: the Gulf Cooperation Council Athletics Championships football, Archery, athletics, Badminton, sailing, basketball, Swimming, Marathon Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, tennis, gymnastics, weightlifting, futsal, snooker, Cycling, Chess and table tennis. The 3rd edition of the game had to be organized in June 2019, but held in 2022 due to the internal issues between the GCC state countries. The 4th edition has been announced and will happen as per the announced dates. For the first time the games will be organized by the new, young and talented faces of GCC team.
The 2025 IHF World Men's Handball Championship is the 29th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. It is held in Croatia, Denmark and Norway from 14 January to 2 February 2025. This edition marks the first time the world championship is being held in three countries.
The 2027 IHF World Men's Handball Championship, will be the 30th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. It will take place in Germany in January 2027.
The 2025 IHF World Women's Handball Championship will be 27th edition of the championship to be jointly hosted by Germany and the Netherlands under the aegis of International Handball Federation (IHF) from 26 November to 14 December 2025. It will be fourth time in history that the championship is jointly hosted. "Catch the Dream" will be the official motto of the competition.

In 2025, the Iranian government began discussing changing the capital city from Tehran to Makran and Chabahar. This decision, aimed at addressing Tehran’s overpopulation, water scarcity, power shortages, and other ecological pressures, was officially declared by government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani on January 8, 2025. The government has formed two councils to examine the feasibility of the move and develop a sea-based economy in the Makran region.
