The Australia national handball team is the national handball team of Australia, representing the country in international matches. Handball Australia is the national governing body for the Olympic Sport of Handball and for the sport of Beach Handball. Australia has consistently won the Oceania championships in both men's and women's division. In 2014 the International Handball Federation (IHF) decided to exclude Australia from the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship.
The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) is the governing body of handball and beach handball in Asia. It has 44 member countries, mostly located on the Asian continent, but excludes the transcontinental countries with territory in both Europe and Asia – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russian Federation and Turkey – which are instead members of European Handball Federation (EHF). Three other states located along the western fringe of Asia – Cyprus, Armenia and Israel – are also EHF members. Hong Kong China and Macau, although not independent countries, are also members of the AHF.

This is organised by the Oceania Continent Handball Federation (OCHF).

In addition to crowning the Oceania champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the World Championships.

The Oceania Beach Handball Championship is the official competition for Under 17 years national beach handball teams of Oceania region. It was first organized by the Oceania Continent Handball Federation in 2017. The first champions for boys were Australia and for girls America Samoa. In addition to crowning the Oceania champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the World Championships and also the Youth Olympic Games. The first competition was held in Raratonga in the Cook Islands from 3 May 2017 until 5 May 2017.
Beach handball at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 7 to 13 October in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The IHF Council is an institution of International Handball Federation. It is the main decision-making body of the organization in the intervals of IHF Congress. Its members are elected by the IHF Congress. The council is a non-executive, supervisory and strategic body that sets the vision for IHF and global handball.
