IHF Honorary President and Honorary Members is an award established by the International Handball Federation. It is awarded by the IHF Congress to individuals who have rendered outstanding services to the international handball.
At the recommendation of the IHF Council or a member association, retiring chairman and members of bodies may be appointed as honorary president or honorary members by the IHF Congress.
The award consists of the insignia of the IHF Council with full garland in gold and a personal gift. The recipient also receives a pass, entitling him/her to free entry to all handball events held by any member federation around the world. The Honorary president is also sent an invitation by the International Handball Federation to attend the IHF Council meeting. The honorary president may give suggestions on any matter but had not any voting right.
The award was first awarded to Willy Burmeister of West Germany in 1966 when he was made honorary member of the IHF. Paul Högberg of Sweden was made first honorary president while Raymond Hahn of France was made first honorary secretary general. [1]

Aleksandr Borisovich Kozhukhov was "The USSR Merited Master of Sports", "The Merited Coach of the USSR national handball team", and the "USSR Merited Figure of Physical Culture". He was a Russian, Soviet handball player, who became president of the USSR Handball Federation (1990–1992) and a president for the Handball Union of Russia (1992–2004) before being the Honorary President of the Handball Union of Russia (2004–2008).
Peter Mühlematter is a Swiss handball administrator. He was born on 2 January 1945 in Bern. While working as manager for a Swiss printing machine manufacturer, he started his IHF career as member of the IHF Commission for Development and Public Relations before becoming a member and then President of the IHF Commission of Organising and Competition. Thus, by virtue of his office, he had also been a member of the IHF Council. At the IHF Congress in 2004, he was elected Secretary General of the International Handball Federation (IHF).
The 2015 World Men's Handball Championship was the 24th staging of the World Men's Handball Championship, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The final tournament was held for the first time in Qatar, from 15 January to 1 February 2015. The Qatari bid was selected over those of Norway, Poland and France after a vote by the IHF Council on 27 January 2011, in Malmö, Sweden. This is the third time that the World Championship was hosted in the Middle East And North Africa, after Egypt in 1999 and Tunisia in 2005.
Hans Baumann, was a Swiss architect and sports administrator who was one of the founding members of the International Handball Federation. He served as the second President of the International Handball Federation (IHF) from 1950 to 1971. He currently holds the record of serving longest term as the head of the IHF.
The 2021 World Women's Handball Championship, the 25th event hosted by the International Handball Federation, will be held in Spain from 2 to 19 December 2021. On 18 October 2018, after a congress in Doha, Qatar, the IHF announced that the World Championship would be expanded from 24 teams to 32 teams, from 2021 onwards for both men and women.

The 2021 IHF Men's Junior World Championship will be the 23rd edition of the tournament, to be held in Budapest, Hungary in 2021. It will be second time that Hungary will host the championship after they hosted it in 2005.
