History

The brigade was established in 1968 during the War of Attrition and was deployed to the Sinai Peninsula as a subordinate unit of the 252nd Division. It operated three regular battalions and two reserve battalions, all equipped with the Sherman-based M-50 self-propelled howitzer. [3]

The brigade was reactivated during the Yom Kippur War, once again fighting on the Egyptian front under the 252nd Division. [3]
