Golden Rooster Awards

The Golden Rooster Awards are awards in film given in mainland China. The awards were originally given annually, beginning in 1981. The name of the award came from the year of the Rooster in 1981. Award recipients receive a statuette in the shape of a golden rooster, and are selected by a jury of filmmakers, film experts, and film historians. The awards are the Chinese equivalent to the American Academy Awards.

Xu Jinglei is a Chinese actress and film director. She was hailed as one of the Four Dan Actresses in China. In 2002, Xu won the Huabiao Award for Outstanding New Actress for her performance in I Love You and the Hundred Flowers Award for Best Actress for Spring Subway. The same year, she won the Golden Rooster Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Far From Home.

Hu Ge Chinese actor and singer (born 1982)

Hu Ge, also known as Hugh Hu, is a Chinese actor and singer. While studying at the Shanghai Theater Academy, he was invited to play the leading role Li Xiaoyao in the 2005 television series Chinese Paladin, and immediately skyrocketed to fame as one of China's most popular actors. Since then, he has starred in several iconic historical television series; such as The Little Fairy (2006), The Young Warriors (2006), The Legend of the Condor Heroes (2008), Chinese Paladin 3 (2009), The Myth (2010), Xuan-Yuan Sword: Scar of Sky (2012) and Sound of the Desert (2014). In September 2012, he was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 31st Hundred Flowers Awards for his role as Lin Juemin in Chinese historical film 1911 (2012). Hu gained widespread acclaim with his roles as Ming Tai in the spy drama The Disguiser (2015) and Mei Changsu in the wuxia drama Nirvana in Fire, for which he received the Best Actor Award at the 22nd Magnolia Awards and the Golden Eagle Awards. He ranked 24th on the Forbes China Celebrity 100 List for 2020.

Huabiao Awards

China Huabiao Film Awards, also simply known as Huabiao Awards, is an annual awards ceremony for Chinese cinema. Named after the decorative Chinese winged columns (huabiaos), The Huabiao Awards were first instituted in 1957 as the Ministry of Culture Excellence Film awards. Between 1958 and 1979, no awards were given. In 1994, the awards were renamed "Huabiao." The ceremony is held in Beijing, and is the highest government honor in film industry. Along with Golden Rooster Awards, Hundred Flowers Awards, these are known as China's three main film awards.

Sun Li, also known as Susan Sun, is a Chinese actress. In 2018, she became the youngest Chinese actress to win the "Grand Slam", after winning the three biggest television awards, the Flying Apsaras Awards, Golden Eagle Awards and the Magnolia Awards.

Hundred Flowers Awards

The Hundred Flowers Awards are together with the Golden Rooster Awards the most prestigious film awards in China; the Chinese equivalent of American Golden Globes. The awards were inaugurated by China Film Association in 1962 and sponsored by Popular Cinema (大众电影) magazine, which has the largest circulation in mainland China.

Tong Dawei is a Chinese actor and singer. Tong is best known for starring in the television series Jade Goddess of Mercy (2003), Struggle (2007), and Tiger Mom (2015); as well as the films Lost in Beijing (2007), The Flowers of War (2011) and American Dreams in China (2013).

Golden Eagle Award for Best Actress is a main category of the China TV Golden Eagle Award. From 2003 to 2014, the title of Best Actress (视后) was given to the winner who won both the Golden Eagle Award's Audience's Choice and the festival's Performing Arts awards. The top honour is voted in by a panel of judges, the China Television Artists Association and the national audience. This category was absent during 2000–2002. Since 2020, the award has been split from Audience's Choice for Actor, and is voted in by a panel of judges and the CTAA.
