His accolades include a Guam International Film Festival Award, two Newport Beach Film Festival Award, a Gawad Urian Award, two Metro Manila Film Festival Awards and four Star Awards for Movies, including nominations for an ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards, six FAMAS Awards and four Luna Awards.

The 9th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival was successfully held from July 26 to August 4, 2013, in Metro Manila, Philippines. This year's theme is "Synergy of the Senses", which makes the entries to deliver mature content and provocative themes. The opening film is Jazz in Love by Baby Ruth Villarama, a documentary about a Filipino gay man who waits for the arrival of his German boyfriend. The closing film is Joel Lamangan's Burgos which stars Lorna Tolentino as Edita Burgos, the crusading mother of missing activist Jonas. The winners were announced on August 4 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Jerrold Tarog's Sana Dati and Hannah Espia's Transit won top film honors in the awards night.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Luna Award</span> Annual Philippine film award

The Luna Awards are awards given annually by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) to recognize the outstanding achievements of the Filipino film industry. The first awards were presented in 1983 in Pasay. It is considered to be the Philippine counterpart of the Oscars. It used to be known as the FAP Awards until in 2005 when it got its current name. Since 2007, the Academy started holding simple awards ceremonies due to lack of government funding and reduction of its share from MMFF earnings. This also caused some delays for ceremony scheduling.

The 29th Luna Awards were held on July 10, 2011, at the Quezon City Sports Club and they honored the best Filipino films of the year 2010. It was held together with the 27th Luna Awards.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Christian Bables</span> Filipino actor and model (born 1992)

Christian Mercurio Bables, is a Filipino actor and model. Numerous critics have recognized him as one of the most skilled young actors in the Philippine entertainment industry. He won Best Actor at the fifth Hanoi International Film Festival for his performance as the lead character Intoy in the drama film Signal Rock. He also won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Gawad Urian Awards, 42nd MMFF and FAP Luna Awards for his character Barbs in the LGBT comedy-drama film Die Beautiful.

The 38th Luna Awards ceremony, presented by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), honored the best Filipino films of 2019. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, it took place online via livestream on December 18, 2020, and was broadcast on UNTV.

Zig Madamba Dulay is a Filipino independent filmmaker, TV director, producer, screen writer, film editor and cinematographer. He is known for directing and writing several acclaimed Indie films such as The Bit Player, Missing, Bambanti and Bagahe. Dulay has directed and written several television series for GMA Network, where he serves as one of the head-writers and resident director. He has gained nationwide recognition after directing a fantasy drama series Maria Clara at Ibarra and the award-winning movies Firefly and Green Bones.
