4 Corners is a New Zealand Hip-Hop group formed in 1998. Their songs On the Down Low and By My Side charted on New Zealand's top 40 in 2005 and 2006 respectively. [1]
The name 4 Corners originates from the 4 elements of the Hip Hop culture: MCing (rapping), DJing, breaking (breakdancing) and graffiti art (Graf). 4 Corners consists of two MC's, Koma and Hepaklypz, with DJ Omega B, and was formed in 1998 with members from different groups within Hamilton.
They were featured on P-Money's album "Big Things" & DJ Sir-Vere's Major Flavours 4 which has gone triple platinum. [2] They also performed live on DJ Sir-Vere's set for the Missy Elliott concert. [3] In January 2005 they filmed their first music video (In the game 4 life) in Wellington at the Bodyrock festival. At the start of 2006 4 Corners also made it into the Top 3 (over 70 bands entered) for the Coke Tunes competition to open the Edgefest 2006.
Since their formation 4 Corners have featured on various TV programmes like Coast and Tuhono on Maori Television as well as Mai Time and Space. They have also performed at events such as the bNet Awards (Akl), Big Day Out (Akl), NZ ITF Finals (Akl), Body Rock (Wgtn), Respect Festival (Wgtn), Aotearoa Hip Hop Summits (Chch & Akl), Beat Street (Ham), Orientation (Ham) Resolution (Whitianga), Coyote Tour (Tga & Wgtn), DMC DJ Comp (Wgtn), Reprezent (Akl), DJ Revolution (Chch). They have toured nationwide with Nesian Mystik and Misfits of Science.
They have also supported top NZ acts such as Che Fu, King Kapisi, P-Money, Deceptikonz, Footsouljahs, Frontline & Scribe on his stand up tour also guest appearances with Scribe at the De La Soul, Q-Bert & 50 Cent concerts.
In 2005, a partnership was formed with independent label Disruptiv Music to release 4 Corners debut album. The first single and video through Disruptiv, 'On the Downlow' was released at the end of 2005. This single charted on the NZ Top 40. [1]
They completed their album in York Street Studios at the end of March 2006. The Foundations featuring Che Fu, Ladi 6, Tyra Hammond, Maia Rata and beats from P-Money, DJ Militia, Fire and Ice and DJ Ali. [4] Sales on the album were less than expected. [5]
In 2007 they were also nominated for best hip hop/urban album at the New Zealand Music Awards [5] and their manager, Ayesha Kee, won Upcoming Manager of the Year - Regional at the NZ Music Managers’ Forum's Managers Awards for her work with the band. [6] [7] They were also the second foreign music act to perform in Laos after Danish rock act Michael Learns To Rock. Where they headlined the act and performed to about 10,000 people. [5]

Malo Ioane Luafutu, also called Jeshua Ioane Luafutu, and better known by his stage name Scribe, is a New Zealand rapper of Samoan descent. He achieved two solo number ones on the singles chart from his debut album, The Crusader, which was released in 2003 in New Zealand and later certified four times platinum. He also reached number one as a featured artist on P-Money's 2004 song "Stop the Music", and in 2010 on R&B singer J.Williams' single "You Got Me".
Che Kuo Eruera Ness, better known by his stage name Che Fu, is a New Zealand singer, songwriter and producer. A founding member of the band Supergroove, as a solo artist he has gone on to sell thousands of albums both in New Zealand and internationally. Che Fu is considered a pioneer of hip hop and Pasifika music in New Zealand.
Peter Wadams, better known by his stage name P-Money, is a New Zealand DJ and producer.

Matakite John Chong Nee, better known by his stage name Chong Nee, is a New Zealand hip hop and R&B singer-songwriter and producer.
Nesian Mystik was a New Zealand hip-hop/R&B group which formed in 1999. The cultural backgrounds of its members united a remarkable diversity of Polynesia by bringing together Cook Island, Tongan, Samoan and Maori ancestry. As well as producing a record number of Top 10 New Zealand singles, Nesian Mystik supported international acts such as Robbie Williams, Missy Elliott, Shaggy and The Black Eyed Peas. The group officially disbanded in 2011 after a successful music career that included four commercially successful albums and numerous New Zealand Music Award nominations.
3 The Hard Way are a New Zealand hip hop group formed in 1994. They are best known for their two New Zealand number one singles, "Hip Hop Holiday" from 1994, and "It's On " from 2003.

Production was handled entirely by P-Money, who also served as executive producer together with Callum August. DLT or Darryl Leigh Thomson, is a New Zealand hip hop DJ, music producer and composer as well as a visual artist. He was a founding member of Upper Hutt Posse (UHP). As a solo artist DLT issued two albums, The True School (1996) and Altruism (2000) – both peaked on the New Zealand albums chart top 20. His most successful single, "Chains" (1996), featuring vocals by Che Fu, reached number one on the New Zealand singles chart.
Live At World's End is the third album of the New Zealand Christian Hip Hop/ Rock band Rapture Ruckus. Released on 8 December 2008 the album it made a debut in the NZ Top 40 at #7 and #16 on the IMNZ independent chart. The album was a Live CD/ DVD of their performance at the Parachute Music festival in Hamilton, New Zealand in the January 2008 in front of a crowd of some 25,000 people. The album had two new songs "One" and "No Matter What." Brad Dring later referred to the Show as;

Joshua Elia Williams, known by his stage name J. Williams, is a New Zealand R&B recording artist and professional hip-hop dancer. He made his musical debut in 2008 with "Blow Your Mind" which peaked at number 13 on the New Zealand Singles Chart. In early 2009 his debut album Young Love was released with the single "You Got Me" featuring Scribe. It was certified platinum and became the #1 selling single of 2010 in New Zealand.
Karoline Fuarosa Park-Tamati, known professionally as Ladi6, is a New Zealand recording artist of Samoan descent. She spent six months living in Berlin and touring Europe in both 2010 and 2011. Her debut album Time Is Not Much debuted at number 4 on the New Zealand Top 40 Album chart. and her second album The Liberation Of... debuted at number 6 and was certified gold. Her single "Like Water" was certified platinum in June 2011. She has won many awards, including Best Female Solo Artist and Best Urban Hip Hop Album at the 2011 New Zealand Music Awards and Best Urban/Hip Hop Album at the 2009 New Zealand Music Awards. The current line-up of the wider Ladi6 group is Ladi6, her partner Parks and Julien Dyne.
The Liberation Of... is the second album by Christchurch-born singer-songwriter/rapper Ladi6, released in November 2010. It was nominated for Album of the Year and won Best Urban/Hip Hop Album at the 2011 New Zealand Music Awards. It also won the 2011 Taite Music Prize and Best Urban Album at the 2011 Pacific Music Awards.

Mark James "Slave" Williams and Otis Frizzell are a New Zealand duo known as hip hop MCs and television and radio presenters. Together they are known for their musical work in the 1990s as MC OJ & Rhythm Slave and Joint Force, and their radio and television work in later years.
"Money Trees" is a song by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, taken from his major label debut studio album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City (2012). It was written by Steve Barr, Hone Kouka and Casey Whelan and marks the feature film directorial debut by Tammy Davis, best known for his role as Munter in Outrageous Fortune. The film premiered on 24 September 2015 in New Zealand. Born to Dance was choreographed by Parris Goebel.
Bronson Price, known professionally as Melodownz, is a New Zealand rapper, poet and singer from Avondale, Auckland. Debuting in 2013, Melodownz has released solo projects including Beginners Luck (2014), Avontales (2017) and Melo & Blues (2018), as well as collaborative extended plays with Angelo King, IllBaz and Raiza Biza.
