The 4th Army Corps (Azerbaijani : 4-ci Ordu Korpusu), also referred to as the Baku Army Corps is a regional military formation of the Azerbaijani Land Forces, that covers Absheron Peninsula and the coast, currently deployed from the capital of Baku. [4]
The corps consists of three motorized rifle brigades: one at Zeynalabdin, one at Jusar, and another at an undisclosed location. Unlike the other corps, its role was mainly to serve as a strategic reserve. As a result, it is the smallest corps in the Land Forces Like the 3rd Corps, it will be used for replenishing the ranks of the 1st Corps. [5] At the beginning of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, Azerbaijan lined up six additional motorized infantry brigades along the front line, with reservists being mobilized and transferred from the 4th Corps. [6] [7] At the Baku Victory Parade of 2020 on Azadliq Square, the corps was represented by a parade contingent led by Colonel Ilham Mammadov. [8]
A facilities in the village of Pirəkəşkül in the Absheron Rayon is the site of a missile base operated by the corps, opened in June 2018 by President Ilham Aliyev. [9] The base houses Polonez-M and LORA missile systems. [9] In January 2017, a new 42 hectare military camp is located at the corps. Construction work began here in May 2014 and was completed at the end of 2016. A total of 13 military dormitories were built. A 76-bed, two-story medical center also operates at the corps. [10]
The Azerbaijani Land Forces are the land force component of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, Azerbaijan has been trying to create professional, well trained, and mobile armed forces. Based on 2013 statistics, the country has about 85,000 ground force troops, with additional paramilitary forces of 15,000. In addition, there are 300,000 former service personnel who have had military service in the last fifteen years.

2020 Baku Victory Parade was held on 10 December, in Azadliq Square, Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. It was held in honor of the Azerbaijani victory during the Second Nagorno-Karabakh war, officially described as the Patriotic War in Azerbaijan. The parade was held with 3,000 military servicemen who distinguished themselves during the war marched alongside military equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles and aircraft, as well as Armenian war trophies, and Turkish soldiers and officers, while navy vessels performed maneuvers in the nearby Bay of Baku, and jets and helicopters flew above the city. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a key ally of Azerbaijan in the war, also attended the military parade as part of a state visit to Baku.
