The 4th Pavlograd Regiment for the protection of important State Objects' is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with the protection of important strategic sites. It was established in 1991 and is headquartered in Pavlograd. Pavlograd Mechanical Plant, Pavlograd Chemical Plant and Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology amongst other strategic sites are under the regiment's protection. [1]
It was established on 14 July 1948 on the basis of the 290th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Soviet Armed Forces as the 7th Regiment under direct supreme command. The regiment was established in Irpin near Kyiv but on 2 October 1948, it was relocated to the city of Dniprodzerzhinsk, where it took over the protection of military industry facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. In 1962, the regiment was transferred to Pavlograd and guarded the Chemical Industry, in 1964, the Plant No. 586, the modern state-owned enterprises of the Pavlograd Chemical Plant and Pavlograd Mechanical Plant was taken under its protection. On 28 November 1968, the 347th regiment was established on the basis of the 33rd detachment of the Internal Troops of Ukraine. In 1990, the regiment was awarded the transitional Red Banner of the Internal Troops of the Soviet Union for the Ukrainian SSR and Moldavian SSR. On 30 September 1991, the regiment became part of the Internal Troops of Ukraine becoming the 4th Separate Regiment. [2] On 14 July 1998, the regiment was presented with a Combat Flag, becoming one of the first units of the Internal Troops of Ukraine to receive one. [3]
In 2014, the regiment became a part of the National Guard of Ukraine and saw combat during the War in Donbass. It took part in the Siege of Sloviansk and on 29 May 2014, during the siege, after unloading food at the 4th checkpoint and replenishing personnel, near Mount Karachun, a Mi-8 MT helicopter of the National Guard of Ukraine was shot down by separatists using a MANPAD killing 12 personnel including two crew members, Major General Serhii Kulchytskyi, six Berkut personnel and an officer of the regiment (Major Vitaly Ivanovich Kurylovych). [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] On 13 March 2015, a soldier of the regiment (Svistunov Vadim Mykolayovych) was killed while on duty at a checkpoint in Donetsk Oblast. [9] [10]
During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the regiment saw combat. In 2022, the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology, protected by the regiment, was damaged by Russian shelling, [11] [12] resulting in heavy damage to the Neutron Source nuclear facility. [13] [14] In September 2022, the regiment took part in the process of decommunisation by carrying out the removal of stalinistic monuments. [15] On 30 April 2023, as a result of intensive Russian air assault on Pavlograd, a soldier of the regiment (Bohdan Mazuga) was killed in action. [16] On 18 December 2023, the canine unit of the regiment intercepted an illegal shipment of 400 rounds of ammunition, M67 Grenades, a hand-held grenade launcher and an RPG-7. [17] On 6 June 2024, another illegal arms shipment was intercepted by the regiment's canine unit capturing F-1 grenades and around 500 rounds of ammunition. [18]

The 12th Brigade of Operational Assignment was a military formation of the National Guard of Ukraine. It was part of the Eastern operational territorial association. It was based in Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast.
The 208th Anti-aircraft Missile Brigade "Khersonska" is a brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force tasked with air defense operations throughout Kherson Oblast. It operates S-300 missile systems and is subordinated to the Air Command South. It is headquartered at Kherson.
The 15th Operational Assignment Kara Dag Brigade "Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada" is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. It is a part of the Ukrainian Offensive Guard and was established as the 9th Special Purpose Regiment in 1994 at the village of Shiroky in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. It has taken part in multiple engagements throughout the Russo-Ukrainian war and is currently deployed on the frontlines in Pokrovsk. It is currently headquartered in Zaporizhzhia City.
11th Separate Public Order Odessa Brigade "Mykhailo Hrushevsky" is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of public law and order, and after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was established in 1992 as the 7th Separate National Guard Regiment on the basis of the 42nd Special Motorized Militia Regiment. It is headquartered in Odessa city.
The 21st Separate Public Order Protection Brigade is a law enforcement brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of the law and order as well as the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was established in 1992 on the basis of the 25th Separate Special Motorized Militia Battalion as the 6th Regiment. The brigade's main headquarters is in Kryvyi Rih but some parts of it are garrisoned at Kropyvnytskyi.
The 31st Public Order Protection Brigade "Major General Oleksandr Radievskyi" is a Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of the public order and the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was established on January 2, 1992, as the 5th NG Regiment on the basis of the 24th Separate Special Motorized Militia Battalion. It has seen combat during the War in Donbas and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Its headquartered in Dnipro.
The 2nd Separate Mixed Galician Brigade is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine concerned with multiple roles including the extraction of Ukrainian personnel from the frontlines, logistical and combat support, maintenance of the public law and order, among other roles. It was established on the basis of the 16th Convoy Brigade in February 1992 as the 2nd Convoy Brigade. Its main headquarters is in Lviv although its units are also stationed in Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Drohobych and Rivne.
The 5th Separate Mixed Slovozhansk Brigade is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine concerned with multiple roles including the extraction of Ukrainian personnel from the frontlines, logistical and combat support, maintenance of the public law and order, the protection of citizens' safety, administrative buildings and General Consulates amongst other roles. It was established on the basis of the 20th Convoy Brigade in February 1992 as the 5nd Convoy Brigade. It is headquartered in Kharkiv

The 50th Separate "Simon Hnatovich Vysochan" Regiment" is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with special purpose operations, law enforcement, anti-criminal operations, anti-smuggling operations, mountain patrols and protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established as the 12th Separate Battalion in 1993. It's units are stationed throughout Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and Chernivtsi Oblast.

The 1st Dnipropetrovsk Regiment for the Protection of particularly important State Objects is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with the protection of strategically important sites such as the PA Pivdenmash and the Dnipro Machine-Building Plant. It was established in 1991 and is currently headquartered at Dnipro although formerly a Battalion of the regiment was Garrisoned in Rubizhne as well.
