5Five was a Ghanaian hiplife music group. Formed in 2005, the group was composed of Luther Azamati (Papi 5Five), Jeffery Opoku Agyekum (Killy) and Juno. [1] [2] [3]
5Five became a household name in Ghana after their song African Gurlz won two awards at the Ghana Music Awards in 2008. The group was formed in Adabraka a suburb of Accra. Their debut single was Bull (4 Better 4 Worse) was released in 2005, and then did a remix of it with Batman Samini now Samini was done and put on the Appietus compilation. [4]
Papi 5Five a member of 5Five and Appietus was engaged in an exchange of words on radio and tv over copyright infringements. Appietus has allegedly engaged against 5Five on their song Move Back (Mujebaya) and a few others. [5] Appietus claimed in an interview on Citi TV that he wasn't paid hence allowing his DSPs to upload the song on music streaming websites on his behalf. [6] [7] Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson who owns Bullhaus Entertainment is also involved in this controversy and threatened court action against Appietus. [8] Appietus also threatened to take court action against Papi 5Five for allegedly defaming him. [9]
Papi Adabraka was the first member of 5Five to go solo in 2022 after he claimed they had a challenge that they were able to resolve. [10] But after doing that they all had to go their separate ways since none of others where interested in pursuing music further. [11] Killy on the other hand has rebranded his name and is now known as Quasi Flava. [12]

Bongo Flava is a nickname for Tanzanian music. The genre was developed in the 1990s, mainly as a derivative of American hip hop and traditional Tanzanian styles such as taarab and dansi. Lyrics are usually in Swahili or English.
Emmanuel Andrews Sammini, known by his stage name Samini, is a Ghanaian reggae and dancehall recording artist from Wa, Ghana. His genre of music is a melodious mixture of high life, dance hall, reggae and hip-hop. He terms his brand of music "African dance hall". He signed his first record deal with Ashanti International. Samini started his record label after he left the aforementioned label.
Jeff Tennyson Quaye, professionally known by his stage name Jay Q, is a Ghanaian musician, record producer, record executive, sound engineer, songwriter and keyboardist. He is the founder and current CEO of Q-Lex Entertainment and Jay-Qlex Recording Studio. He has produced albums for and overseen the careers of many musicians, including Buk Bak, VIP, Castro, Mzbel, Obrafour, Daddy Lumba, Nana Acheampong, Ofori Amponsah, Akosua Agyapong, Obuoba J. A. Adofo, Wulomei, and others. As a producer, Jay Q is credited as a key figure in the popularization of Hiplife, Highlife and Gospel. He introduced Jama (kpanlogo) into Hiplife, which became laudable and was accepted in Ghana, Africa and the rest of the World. In 2003, Jay Q won an award for Best Sound Engineer in Ghana.
Michael Owusu Addo, known professionally as Sarkodie, is a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur from Tema. He started rapping at a young age and has since become a household name in the Ghanaian and Global music industry. His contributions to the Ghanaian music industry have earned him numerous accolades, including TGMA then Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) for "Artiste of the Decade". He was announced the first winner of BET's Best International Flow Artist at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. He is also considered one of the major proponents of the Azonto genre and dance and as the most successful African rapper of all time. Due to the variety of musical genres. he can perform in, Sarkodie is referred to as a "multifaceted rapper" and frequently raps in his native language, Twi.
Appiah Dankwah, popularly known as Appietus is a Ghanaian actor musician, music producer and sound engineer based in Accra, Ghana. The name Appietus gained prominence from his signature "Appietus in the mix". It was, however, coined from the phrase "Appiahs' Tools". He has been the winner of six music industry awards in the 10-year span from the start of his career. He won the Ghana Music Honours 2015 Best Music Producer and Sound Engineer award, Sun Shine Music Awards 2010 Best Sound Engineer award and the UK Ghana Music Awards, Best Sound Engineer in 2008. His remarkable work has also led him to represent the country in some international programs including WOMEX 2013 in Wales, UK, and Worldtronics in Berlin, Germany, 2012.

It first came to Ghana as Hiplife, where Reggie Rockstone introduced a fusion of hip-hop beats with African sounds to create a whole new genre.
