Adabraka is a town in the Korley Klottey Municipal Assembly, [1] a Municipality of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. [2] [3] It was the first and the most posh neighborhood in Ghana during the British era.[ clarification needed ]
Adabraka was once known for the O'Reilly Senior High School. [4] [5] The school is a second cycle institution that relocated in 2010 to Okpoi Gonno at Teshie-Nungua. [6] [7] [8]
The town hosts four tertiary institutions; the African University College of Communication (AUCC), The Ghana Institute of Languages(GIL), the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology(CIBT), and the University of Ghana Accra City Campus.
The Accra Psychiatry Hospital is located in Adabraka. Adabraka also has polyclinic called Adabraka Polyclinic, which is just opposite the Accra Psychiatry Hospital. [9] The Accra Rehabilitation Centre is also located in Adabraka, along the Barnes Road. [10]
Accra is the capital and largest city of Ghana, located on the southern coast at the Gulf of Guinea, which is part of the Atlantic Ocean. As of 2021 census, the Accra Metropolitan District, 20.4 km2 (7.9 sq mi), had a population of 284,124 inhabitants, and the larger Greater Accra Region, 3,245 km2 (1,253 sq mi), had a population of 5,455,692 inhabitants. In common usage, the name "Accra" often refers to the territory of the Accra Metropolitan District as it existed before 2008, when it covered 199.4 km2 (77.0 sq mi). This territory has since been split into 13 local government districts: 12 independent municipal districts and the reduced Accra Metropolitan District (20.4 km2), which is the only district within the capital to be granted city status. This territory of 199.4 km2 contained 1,782,150 inhabitants at the 2021 census, and serves as the capital of Ghana, while the district under the jurisdiction of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly proper (20.4 km2) is distinguished from the rest of the capital as the "City of Accra".
The Greater Accra Region has the smallest area of Ghana's 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of 3,245 square kilometres. This is 1.4 per cent of the total land area of Ghana. It is the most populated region, with a population of 5,455,692 in 2021, accounting for 17.7 per cent of Ghana's total population.
Teshie is a coastal town in the Ledzokuku Municipal District, a district in the Greater Accra Region of southeastern Ghana. Teshie is the ninth most populous settlement in Ghana, with a population of 171,875 people.
The Accra Metropolitan District is one of the 254 Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts in Ghana, and among the 26 such districts in the Greater Accra Region with a population of 284,124 as of 2021. The 2015 Accra floods resulted from heavy continuous rainfall in Accra, the largest city in Ghana. The rain started on 1 June 2015. Other causes of this flood is as a result of the improper planning of settlement in Accra, choked gutters which block the drainage system and a few other human factors. The floods have resulted in heavy traffic on the roads in the city and also a halt in commercial activities as markets were flooded and workers trapped. Mayor of Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije described the flooding as critical. At least 25 people have died from the flooding directly, while a petrol station explosion caused by the flooding killed at least 200 more people.
ZanetorAgyeman-Rawlings (Dr.) is Ghanaian medical doctor, politician, Activist & Campaigner who is the eldest daughter of the 1st President under the 4th Republic of Ghana Jerry Rawlings (1993–2001) and former first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman (1993–2001). She is a member of the Ghanaian parliament for the Klottey-Korle Constituency and a medical doctor and humanitarian. She is also a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on which she won her seat to be a member of parliament for her constituency.

The municipality is located in the central part of Greater Accra Region and has Kokomlemle as its capital town.
Korle-Klottey Municipal District is one of the twenty-nine districts in Greater Accra Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Accra Metropolitan District in 1988, until a small portion of the district was split off to create Korle-Klottey Municipal District on 19 February 2019; thus the remaining part has been retained as Accra Metropolitan District. The municipality is located in the central part of Greater Accra Region and has Osu as its capital town.
