Kumasi is a city in the Ashanti Region, and is among the largest metropolitan areas in Ghana. Kumasi is located in a rain forest region near Lake Bosomtwe, and is the commercial, industrial, and cultural capital of the historical Ashanti Empire. Kumasi is approximately 500 kilometres (300 mi) north of the Equator and 200 kilometres (100 mi) north of the Gulf of Guinea. Kumasi is alternatively known as "The Garden City" because of its many species of flowers and plants in the past. It is also called Oseikrom, after Osei Kofi Tutu I who was a king in the Ashanti empire.
The Ashanti Region is located in the southern part of Ghana and is the third largest of 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of 24,389 km2 (9,417 sq mi) and making up 10.2 percent of the total land area of Ghana. It is the most populated region in Ghana, with a population of 5,440,463 according to the 2021 census, accounting for around one-fifth of Ghana's total population. The Ashanti Region is known for its gold bar and cocoa production. The largest city and capital of Ashanti is Kumasi.
Obuasi is a gold mining community and town which is the capital of the Obuasi Municipal District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It lies in the southern part of the Obuasi Municipal, 39 miles south-west of Ashanti capital city Kumasi. Obuasi has a population of 175,043 people. Obuasi mining community has a mixture of the Ashanti people culture and the semi-island exclave Ashantiland.
The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital(KATH) also known as GEE after the name of its contractors Messrs. GEE Walter & Slater in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana, is the second-largest hospital in Ghana, and the only tertiary health institution in the Ashanti Region.
Ahafo Ano North Municipal District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 as Ahafo Ano North District, which was created from the former Ahafo Ano District Council; until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Ahafo Ano North Municipal District in November 2017. Agogo is a town in the Asante Akim North Municipal District of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Agogo is approximately 80 kilometers east of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, and had a population of 28,271 in the 2000 census. Computer projections estimate that the 2007 population was 32,859.

He was a member of the committee set up by the government of Ghana in 2003, tasked with the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme in Ghana.
The West End Hospital is a 40-bed private health care facility in Kumasi, Ghana. It is popularly known as the "Kwakye-Maafo Hospital" because of its distinguished services in fertility, obstetrics and gynaecology by the founder, Dr. J.K. Kwakye-Maafo, a medical practitioner and former president of the Ghana Medical Association.

The Presbyterian Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Agogo, formerly Presbyterian Nurses' Training College is a public tertiary health institution located in Agogo Ashanti Akim in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It was established by the Swiss missionaries in March 1935 in order to train nurses for the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital. The Hospital and the Nursing/Midwifery training college are all under the Presbyterian Health services. The Presbyterian Health services is also under the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG). CHAG is an association of Christian Churches that have established hospitals and or medical training institutions. Since its establishment in 1935, the college has undergone several reformations until now that it is currently training students in Diploma in Midwifery, Diploma in General Nursing Program and Post Basic Midwifery.
Nalerigu is the largest town in the East Mamprusi Municipal Assembly in the Northeast Region of Ghana as well as the traditional capital of the Mamprusi people, the seat of the Paramount Chief, the NaYiri.
