Asokore Mampong is the capital of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. [1] Popularly known for Kumasi Academy a senior high school and the SSNIT affordable housing projects. The chief of Asokore Mampong is Nana Boakye-Ansah Debrah.

The town is bordered on the north by Parkoso, and Mesuam, to the west by Sepe Tinpomu and Adanyasie, to the east by Nsenie-Kentinkronu and to the south by Ayigya. [2]

Location

Asokore Mampong is 10 kilometres from the centre of Kumasi. Asokore Mampong is a dormitory town. [3]

Education

Asokore Mampong is known for Kumasi Academy, [4] [5] a second cycle institution located there. [6]

Apart from being a residential area for workers in various companies in Kumasi, many hostels are available to serve the students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The Garden City Hospital, Academy Clinic and Legacy Hospitals are located in Asokore Mampong. [1]

Notable places

The affordable housing projects has a huge site in the area for its buildings. [7] There are two additional notable places. The Osei Tutu Nyamekesie and Okomfo Anokye sword are located in the town. The Asokore Mampong Palace is a huge and well designed edifice located in the centre of the town. The palace sits on a 4acre lot. it was designed and built by the chief of the town Nana Boakye-Ansah Debrah.

Asokore-Mampong is the capital of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly and about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from the central business district of Kumasi off the Kumasi Airport-Aboabo Road.

Bomso is a town in Ghana. It is 10 kilometres from the centre Kumasi. It is a dormitory town. Bomso is unofficially divided into three parts namely Bomso (Panin) meaning elder or senior and Bomso ketiwa (small) and Bomso Susuanso. Apart from being a residential areas for workers in various companies in Kumasi, many hostels are available to serve the students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Maxima is a town in Ghana. It is 10 kilometres from the centre Kumasi. It is a dormitory town. It serves mainly as a residential areas for workers in various companies in Kumasi. The town also has several students hostels for KNUST. In July 2011, certain parts of the town were flooded along with several other town in Kumasi.

Abofour is a town in the Offinso Municipality in Ashanti Region of Ghana It is the second largest town in the Municipality after the Offinso township. It is in fact one of the most populated townships in the Ashanti REGION of Ghana. Though Offinso is the Municipal capital, Abofour undoubtedly is the ecomic hub of the municipality by the virtue of having one of the largest Markets in the country.

Asokore Mampong Municipal District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was a sub-metropolitan district council formerly known as Asawase within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly until 28 June 2012, when it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Asokore Mampong Municipal District. The municipality is located in the central part of Ashanti Region and has Asokore Mampong as its capital town.

Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational School is a second-cycle institution in Effiduase Asokore in the Sekyere East District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The school is located at the outskirt of Asokore off Ahensan Road. The school is run by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service in Ghana. In 2015, the school won the Member of Parliament's Independence Cup and was also the second Best Technical Institute in the Ashanti Region.
