Kumbungu is a town in the Kumbungu District of the Northern Region of Ghana. [1] Kumbungu is the capital of Kumbungu district. As of 2010, fertility rate in Kumbungu stood at 3.6 (above the national average of 3.5) and had a total population of 39,341 with an almost equal ratio of females to males. [2] Kumbungu has a market center that comes off every sixth day.
Farming and petty trading make up a portion of the economic activities in the town.

The population of Hohoe Municipality, according to the 2010 Population and Housing Census, is 167,016 representing 7.9 per cent of the total population of the Volta Region. It comprises 52.1 per cent females and 47.9 percent males.
Tolon-Kumbungu District is a former district that was located in Northern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988, which was created from the former West Dagomba District Council. However on 28 June 2012, it was split out into two new districts: Tolon District and Kumbungu District. The district assembly was located in the central part of Northern Region and had Tolon as its capital town.
West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly is one of the six districts in North East Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as West Mamprusi District, which was created from the former Mamprusi District Council, until the western part of the district was split off on 28 June 2012 to create Mamprugu-Moagduri District; thus the remaining part has been retained as West Mamprusi District. However, on 15 March 2018, it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become West Mamprusi Municipal District. The municipality is located in the western part of North East Region and has Walewale as its capital town. Other settlements within the municipal assembly include Wulugu.
Amansie Central District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Amansie East District in 1988, until the western part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 12 November 2003 to create Amansie Central District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Amansie East District. The district assembly is located in the southern part of Ashanti Region and has Jacobu as its capital town.
Jaman North District is one of the twelve districts in Bono Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Jaman District on 10 March 1989, which was created from the former Berekum-Jaman District Council, until part of the district was split off to create Jaman North District on 12 November 2003 ; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Jaman South District; which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 1 November 2017 to become Jaman South Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the western part of Bono Region and has Sampa as its capital town.
Akumadan is the capital of Offinso North, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It has a population of about 20000. Akumadan township is well known for its agricultural activities. All sorts of food crops can be planted on its soil but tomatoes is the largest crop. 90 percent of natives above 18 years are tomato farmers. They produce more tomatoes than any other town in Ghana. It has a dam that helps to irrigate some farmlands within its reach during dry seasons. Cassava, pepper, onion, garden eggs, plantain, maize etc. are also abundant. A company called Fomghana has acquired a large area of land for planting trees near a river that irrigates it. Recently, the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo formally opened a Greenhouse project. Its poised to train young people in Agric Technology.

The West Mamprusi Municipal is one of the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana, and forms part of the 6 MMDAs in the North East Region. The West Mamprusi Municipality is one of 45 new districts created in 1988 under the Government of Ghana’s decentralization and was later replaced with LI 2061 in 2012. With its administrative capital as Walewale.

Nawuni is a community in Kumbungu District in the Northern Region of Ghana. The settlement is a fishing community who are mostly from the volta region of Ghana. Ghana water company limited draw raw water from the nawuni dam for treatment in dalun.

Zugu-Yipelga is a community in Kumbungu District in the Northern Region of Ghana.
Tolon District is one of the twenty seven districts in Northern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Tolon-Kumbungu District in 1988, when it harbored the district capital which was then created from the former West Dagomba District Council, until the eastern part of the district was split off to create Kumbungu District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed to become Tolon District. The district assembly is located in the northwest part of Northern Region and has Tolon as its capital town.
