Kumbungu District is one of the sixteen districts in Northern Region, Ghana. [2] [3] [4] [5] The district assembly is located in the northwest part of Northern Region and has Kumbungu as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Tolon-Kumbungu District in 1988, which was created from the former West Dagomba District Council, until the eastern part of the district was split off to create Kumbungu District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed to become Tolon District.

However, on 15 March 2018, it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become West Mamprusi Municipal District. The municipality is located in the western part of North East Region and has Walewale as its capital town. Other settlements within the municipal assembly include Wulugu.

Gushegu Municipal District is one of the sixteen districts in Northern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Gushegu-Karaga District in 1988, which was created from the former East Dagomba District Council, until the western part of the district was split off to create Karaga District on 27 August 2004; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Gushegu District, which it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year to become Gushegu Municipal District. The municipality is located in the northeast part of Northern Region and has Gushegu as its capital town.

Kintampo North Municipal District is one of the eleven districts in Bono East Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kintampo District on 10 March 1989, until the southern part of the district was split off to create Kintampo South District on 12 November 2003 ; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Kintampo North District, which it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on 1 November 2007 to become Kintampo North Municipal District. The municipality is located in the northern part of Bono East Region and has Kintampo as its capital town. As at 2021, Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw was the Municipal Chief Executive of the Assembly after he was nominated by Nana Akuffo-Addo.

Alhaji Roland Issifu Alhassan was a Ghanaian politician, lawyer and diplomat. Alhassan was a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), specifically in the country's Northern Region.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger West Gonja District on 23 December 1988, until the northern part of the district was split off on 28 June 2012 to create North Gonja District; thus the remaining part has been retained as West Gonja Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the central part of Savannah Region and has Daboya as its capital town. In 2023, the District Chief Executive is Adam Illiasu.

Sagnarigu Municipal District is one of the sixteen districts in the Northern Region of Ghana. Originally it was part of the then-larger Tamale Municipal District, created in 1988. A small northern part of the Tamale Municipal District was split off to create Sagnarigu District on 24 June 2012, while the remaining part has been retained as the Tamale District. Later, on 15 March 2018, Sagnarigu District was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Sagnarigu Municipal District. The municipality is located in the northwest part of Northern Region and has Sagnarigu as its capital city. Meanwhile, Tamale remains the capital city of the Northern Region as a whole.

West Dagomba District is a former district council that was located in Northern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1975. However on 1988, it was split off into three new district assemblies: Tamale Municipal District, Savelugu-Nanton District and Tolon-Kumbungu District. The district assembly was located in the western part of Northern Region and had Tamale as its capital town.
