Bolgatanga, colloquially known as Bolga, is a town and the capital of the Bolgatanga Municipal District and Upper East Region of Ghana, adjacent to the border with Burkina Faso. Bolgatanga has over 2012 settlement and a population of about 66,685 people. Bolgatanga is 161 km to the north of Tamale. Bolgatanga lies in the Red Volta River Valley, with the White Volta River and the cliffs of the Gambaga Escarpment to the south of the town forming the southern boundary of the Upper East Region.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Atebubu District on 10 March 1989, until the northern part of the district was split off to create Pru District on 12 November 2003 ; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Atebubu-Amantin District, which it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on 15 March 2018 to become Atebubu-Amantin Municipal District. The municipality is located in the east central part of Bono East Region and has Atebubu as its capital town.
Mampong Municipal Assembly is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Sekyere West District in 1988, which was created from the former Sekyere District Council. However on 1 November 2007, the eastern part of the district was split off to create Sekyere Central District; while the remaining portion has since then been officially renamed as Mampong Municipal District, which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year. The municipality is located in the northern part of Ashanti Region and has Mampong as its capital town.

Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988, which was created from the former Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District Council. However on 28 June 2012, it was split off into two new districts: Suhum Municipal District and Ayensuano District. The district assembly was located in the southern part of Eastern Region and had Suhum as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Gushegu-Karaga District in 1988, which was created from the former East Dagomba District Council, until the western part of the district was split off to create Karaga District on 27 August 2004; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Gushegu District, which it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year to become Gushegu Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the northeast part of Northern Region and has Karaga as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Nanumba District in 1988, until the southern part of the district was split to off to create Nanumba South District on 27 August 2004; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Nanumba North District. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Eastern Region and has Wulensi as its capital town.
Bawku Municipal District is one of the fifteen districts in Upper East Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Bawku East District; which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 1439, until the southern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on August 2004 to create Garu-Tempane District; thus the remaining part was elevated to municipal district assembly status on the same year to become Bawku Municipal District. However on 28 June 2012, two parts of the district were later split off to create Binduri District and Pusiga District respectively; thus the remaining part has been retained as Bawku Municipal District. The municipality is located in the eastern part of Upper East Region and has Bawku as its capital town.

The district assembly is located in the southern part of Northern Region and has Kpandai as its capital town.

Bimbilla is the capital town of Nanumba North District, a district in the Northern Region of Ghana. It is located in the East of the region, and is near the Oti River.
Mion District is one of the sixteen districts in Northern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Yendi District in 1988, which was created from the former East Dagomba District Council, until the western part of the district was later split off to create Mion District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining original part has bee retained to become Yendi Municipal District. The Nanumba people are an ethnic group whose traditional homeland is in the southeast of the Northern Region of Ghana. They speak Nanugli, a Gur language.
Krowor Municipal District is one of the twenty-nine districts in Greater Accra Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the defunct Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal District on 29 February 2008, until part of the district was split off to create Krowor Municipal District on 15 March 2018; thus the remaining original part has been renamed as Ledzokuku Municipal District. The municipality is located in the central part of Greater Accra Region and has Nungua as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Savelugu-Nanton District in 1988, which was created from the former West Dagomba District Council, until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on March 2012 to become Savelugu-Nanton Municipal District. However on 15 March 2018, the southern part of the district was split off to create Nanton District on 15 March 2018; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Savelugu Municipal District. The municipality is located in the northwest part of Northern Region and has Savelugu as its capital town.
Lungni is a village in the Northern region of Ghana, it is in the Wulensi District. Lungni is part of the territory of the Nanumbas a variant of the Dagomba ethnic group. The village over the years has had disputes regarding who provides candidates for the role of chieftaincy. To this extent the Nanumbas, Komkombas and Bassares have all laid claim to it. Lungni is sandwiched between Kpandae and wulensi. The inhabitants are predominantly farmers who grow yam and cereals. The village has a primary and junior secondary school but not a secondary school.

Atwima Nwabiagya North District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Atwima Nwabiagya District on 17 February 2004; until the northern part of the district was split off to create Atwima Nwabiagya North District on 15 March 2018; while the remaining part has been renamed as Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal District when it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year. The district assembly is located in the western part of Ashanti Region and has Barekese as its capital town.
