Zabzugu District is one of the sixteen districts in Northern Region, Ghana. [2] [3] [4] Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Zabzugu-Tatale District in 1988, which was created from the former East Dagomba District Council, until the northeast part of the district was split off to create Tatale-Sangule District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Zabzugu District. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Northern Region and has Zabzugu as its capital town.

The Upper West Region of Ghana is located in the north-western corner of Ghana and is bordered by Upper East region to the east, Northern region to the south, and Burkina Faso to the west and north. The municipality is located in the eastern part of Savannah Region and has Salaga as its capital town.

Zabzugu-Tatale District Former District in Northern, Ghana

Zabzugu-Tatale District is a former district that was located in Northern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988, which was created from the former East Dagomba District Council. However on 28 June 2012, it was split off into two new districts: Zabzugu District and Tatale-Sangule District. The district assembly was located in the eastern part of Northern Region and had Zabzugu as its capital town.

Tatale is a commercial town in Tatale Sangule District in the Northern Region of Ghana. Layout of the town is part nuclear and part linear. Its inhabitants are diverse in ethnicity with the Basares who speak Ntcham as their official language being the majority. The only Senior High School in the district is Tatale Evangelical Presbetarian Agric Senior High School. Market day in Tatale occurs once a week and is attended by many people from both far and near communities including Togoles. The Zambarama people are frequent in the market center every week and The district is largely rural, with approximately 90% of the population engaged in local agriculture hence subsistence agriculture is the economic norm in the Tatale Sangule district. The district enjoys the services of three telecommunication service providers namely Vodafone Ghana which provides fixed line services as well as cellular network, MTN Ghana, and AirtelTIGO provide only cellular services.

Oti Region Region of Ghana

The Oti Region is one of the six regions created regions of Ghana in December 2018. The region was carved out of the northern part of the Volta Region and will be in fulfillment of a campaign promise made by New Patriotic Party. Prior to the 2016 Ghanaian general election, the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo declared that when elected, he would explore the possibility of creating new regions out of some of the existing regions in Ghana in order to bring government closer to citizens.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Savelugu-Nanton District in 1988, which was created from the former West Dagomba District Council, until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on March 2012 to become Savelugu-Nanton Municipal District. However on 15 March 2018, the southern part of the district was split off to create Nanton District on 15 March 2018; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Savelugu Municipal District.
