North Tongu District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. [2] [3] [4] Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger and original North Tongu District on 10 March 1989, with Adidome as its capital town, which was created from the former Tongu District Council, until the western part of the district was split off to create a new North Tongu District on 28 June 2012, with Battor Dugame as its capital town, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2081; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Central Tongu District , with Adidome as its capital town, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2077. The district assembly is located in Addidome, near Adidome Senior High School (Adisec) the southwest part of Volta Region and has Battor Dugame as its capital town.

Volta Region is one of Ghana's sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the region is multi-ethnic and multilingual, including groups such as the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan peoples. However, on 28 June 2012, it was split off into two new districts: Akatsi South District and Akatsi North District. The district assembly was located in the southeast part of Volta Region and had Akatsi as its capital town.
Jasikan District is one of the eight districts in Oti Region, Ghana. Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly is one of the eight districts in Oti Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Nkwanta District on 10 March 1989, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 1496, until the northern part of the district was split off to create Nkwanta North District on 29 February 2008, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 1892; thus the remaining part has been renamed to become Nkwanta South District. However, on 14 November 2017, it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Nkwanta South Municipal District; which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2283. The municipality is located in the northern part of Oti Region and has Nkwanta as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Ho District on 10 March 1989, until the southern part was split off to create Adaklu-Anyigbe District on 13 August 2004; thus the remaining part has been retained as Ho Municipal District. However, on 28 June 2012, it was split off into two new districts: Agotime-Ziope District and Adaklu District. The district assembly was located in the central part of Volta Region and had Agortime-Kpetoe as its capital town.

Sogakofe is the capital of South Tongu district, a district in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is home to the lower Volta Bridge which connects Sogakofe to Sokpoe. The town is mostly known for its river tourism and Mass bread production. The lower Volta Bridge is also the site for the famous Tortsogbeza, an annual festival held during Easter, which involves diving off the bridge, and is held in conjunction with the neighbouring town, Sokpoe. It is home to the Holy Trinity Spa, Cisneros Villa Hotel and other notable resorts including Shekinah Glory Hotel, Sogakofe Beach Resort etc. Most commuters plying the Accra to Aflao road usually stop over to buy snacks and bread. The town is mostly known for bread baking as well.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Nkwanta District on 10 March 1989, until the northern part of the district was split off to create Nkwanta North District on 29 February 2008, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 1846; thus the remaining part has been renamed to become Nkwanta South District, which was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on 14 November 2017 to become Nkwanta South Municipal District; which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2283. The district assembly is located in the northern part of Oti Region and has Kpassa as its capital town.
Adidome is a small town and is the capital of Central Tongu district, a district in the Volta Region of Ghana. According to the Ghana Statistical Service 2010 Population and Housing Census, the population of Adidome was 7,587. The distance from Adidome to Ghana's capital, Accra is approximately 144 km. The town has a Senior High School called Adidome Senior High School. Adidome is not only noted for its Senior High School but also the Adidome Farm Institute.

However on 28 June 2012, the western part of the district was later split off to create Ho West District; thus the remaining part was elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year to become Ho Municipal District, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2074. The municipality is located in the central part of Volta Region and has Ho as its capital town.

Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Keta District, which was created from the former Anlo District Council, until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 1 November 2007 to become Keta Municipal District. However on 19 February 2019, the western part of the district was split off to create Anloga District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Keta Municipal District. The municipality is located in the southeast part of Volta Region and has Keta as its capital town.
