Volta Region, is one of Ghana's sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the region is multi-ethnic and multilingual, including groups such as the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan peoples. The Guan peoples include the Lolobi, Likpe, Akpafu, Buem, and Nkonya people, et al. This region was carved out of the Volta Region in December 2018 by the New Patriotic Party
Akatsi District is a former district that was located in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly on 10 March 1989, which was created from the former Anlo District Council. However on 28 June 2012, it was split off into two new districts: Akatsi South District and Akatsi North District. The district assembly was located in the southeast part of Volta Region and had Akatsi as its capital town.
Ho Municipal District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Ho District. Later, part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on February 2004 to create Adaklu-Anyigbe District. Another part of the district was later split off to form the new Ho West District on 28 June 2012; thus the original remaining part was upgraded to municipal district assembly status on that same year to become Ho Municipal District; which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2074. The municipality is located in the central part of Volta Region and has Ho as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger and original North Tongu District on 10 March 1989, with Adidome as its capital town, which was created from the former Tongu District Council, until the western part of the district was split off to create a new North Tongu District on 28 June 2012, with Battor Dugame as its capital town, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2081; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Central Tongu District, with Adidome as its capital town, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2077. The district assembly is located in the southwest part of Volta Region and has Battor Dugame as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Ho District in 1988; before it was split off to become Adaklu-Anyigbe District on 2004. However on 28 June 2012, it was split out into two new districts: Adaklu District and Agotime-Ziope District. The district assembly was located in the central part of Volta Region and had Agortime-Kpetoe as its capital town.

Sogakope is the capital of South Tongu district, a district in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is home to the lower Volta Bridge which connects Sogakope to Sokpoe. The town is mostly known for its river tourism and Mass bread production. The lower Volta Bridge is also the site for the famous Tortsogbeza, an annual festival held during Easter, which involves diving off the bridge, and is held in conjunction with the neighbouring town, Sokpoe. It is home to the Holy Trinity Spa, Cisneros Villa Hotel and other notable resorts including Shekinah Glory Hotel, Sogakope Resort etc. Most commuters plying the Accra to Aflao road usually stop over to buy snacks and bread. The town is mostly known for bread baking as well.

Adidome is a small town and is the capital of Central Tongu district, a district in the Volta Region of Ghana. According to the Ghana Statistical Service 2010 Population and Housing Census, the population of Adidome was 7,587.
Kasseh is a town in the Ada East district, a district in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. It is a major town located between Sege and Sogakope on the Accra-Aflao road. Kasseh has the biggest market in four districts in its area. Kasseh is connected to almost all the towns and villages in the Ada East district by road or path. It is the most easily accessible town in the district. It is connected by road to the district capital town of Ada Foah and the Town called Big Ada.
Vume is a small town in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region near Sogakope. The residents of Vume are well noted for the art of pottery.

Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Keta District, which was created from the former Anlo District Council, until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 1 November 2007 to become Keta Municipal District. However on 19 February 2019, the western part of the district was split off to create Anloga District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Keta Municipal District. The municipality is located in the southeast part of Volta Region and has Keta as its capital town.

Later in June 2013, it was curved out of the Ho District to form the Ho West District; thus the original remaining part was upgraded to municipal district assembly status on that same year to become Ho Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the central part of Volta Region and has Dzolokpuita as its capital town. Plans are already underway to split the Ho West District, due to slow development, large size and extreme length, stretching several kilometers from the north of the North Tongu District to the northern part of the Afadzato South District
The North East Region is one of the sixteen regions of Ghana. It is located in the north of the country and was created in December 2018 after a referendum was voted upon to break it off of the Northern region. The region's capital is Nalerigu.
