Tongu District is a former district council that was located in Volta Region, Ghana. [1] Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1975. However on 10 March 1989, it was split off into two new district assemblies: South Tongu District (capital: Sogakope) and the first North Tongu District (currently known as Central Tongu District ; capital: Adidome). [2] The district assembly was located in the southwest part of Volta Region and had Sogakope as its capital town.

Ho Municipal District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Ho District. Later, part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on February 2004 to create Adaklu-Anyigbe District. Another part of the district was later split off to form the new Ho West District on 28 June 2012; thus the original remaining part was upgraded to municipal district assembly status on that same year to become Ho Municipal District; which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2074. The municipality is located in the central part of Volta Region and has Ho as its capital town.

Kpando Municipal District

Kpando Municipal District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Kpando District. Later, part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 19 August 2004 to create South Dayi District. Another part of the district was later split off to create North Dayi District on 28 June 2012; while the remaining part was upgraded to municipal district assembly status on the same year. The municipality is located in the western part of Volta Region and has Kpando as its capital town.

North Tongu District District in Ghana

North Tongu District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger and original North Tongu District on 10 March 1989, with Adidome as its capital town, which was created from the former Tongu District Council, until the western part of the district was split off to create a new North Tongu District on 28 June 2012, with Battor Dugame as its capital town, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2081; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Central Tongu District, with Adidome as its capital town, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2077. Sogakope District Capital in Volta, Ghana

Sogakope is the capital of South Tongu district, a district in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is home to the lower Volta Bridge which connects Sogakope to Sokpoe. The town is mostly known for its river tourism and Mass bread production. The lower Volta Bridge is also the site for the famous Tortsogbeza, an annual festival held during Easter, which involves diving off the bridge, and is held in conjunction with the neighbouring town, Sokpoe. It is home to the Holy Trinity Spa, Cisneros Villa Hotel and other notable resorts including Shekinah Glory Hotel, Sogakope Resort etc. Most commuters plying the Accra to Aflao road usually stop over to buy snacks and bread. The town is mostly known for bread baking as well.

Adidome is a small town and is the capital of Central Tongu district, a district in the Volta Region of Ghana. According to the Ghana Statistical Service 2010 Population and Housing Census, the population of Adidome was 7,587.

Ho West District

Ho West District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. It was formerly part of the then-larger Ho District, dating back to 1988. Later in June 2013, it was curved out of the Ho District to form the Ho West District; thus the original remaining part was upgraded to municipal district assembly status on that same year to become Ho Municipal District. The district assembly is located in the central part of Volta Region and has Dzolokpuita as its capital town. Plans are already underway to split the Ho West District, due to slow development, large size and extreme length, stretching several kilometers from the north of the North Tongu District to the northern part of the Afadzato South District

North East Region, Ghana Region of Ghana

The North East Region is one of the sixteen regions of Ghana. It is located in the north of the country and was created in December 2018 after a referendum was voted upon to break it off of the Northern region. The region's capital is Nalerigu.
