Bechem is a town and is the capital of Tano South district of the Ahafo of Ghana, and Bechem is the district capital for the Tano South Constituency. [2] [3] [4] Bechem is located close to the capital town of Bono, Sunyani. The town is known for the Bechem Presbyterian Secondary School. [5] [6] The school is a second cycle institution. [7] The town has one of the best teacher training colleges in the country known as St. Joseph college (JOSCO) and has Bechem school for the Deaf and Blind and Technical Institute for the Deaf. It has two villages known to be Techimantia and Derma which both stand tall when it comes to tomato production in the country.

It is the home of Bechem United Football Club who currently play in the top division in Ghana. [8]

It was later elevated to municipal district assembly status in April 2018 to become Tano South Municipal District. The municipality is located in the eastern part of Ahafo Region and has Bechem as its capital town.

Techimantia is a town located in the Tano South Municipal District in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. It's about 14 km away from Bechem which is the District Capital.

Kintampo is a town and tourist destination in the Bono East Region of Ghana. It became the capital of Kintampo North Municipal in 2004. Kintampo has a population of 111 000. It also served as the capital of the former Kintampo District. Kintampo also has Senior High Schools (KINSS) which is located at Kyeremankoma, has participated in the National Science Quiz on numerous occasions. Modern Senior High School (MODESS). Kintampo Technical Institute- KINTECH and Centre College Senior High School. Odumase is a small town and is the capital of Sunyani West district of the Bono Region of Ghana. The number of inhabitants is 16,542.

St. Joseph's College of Education is a teacher education college in Bechem. The college is located in Ashanti / Brong Ahafo zone. It is one of the about 40 public colleges of education in Ghana. The college participated in the DFID-funded T-TEL programme. It was established in 1948 by Rev. Fr. Joseph Moulders. It is the first training college in the Brong-Ahafo Region and attained accreditation status in 2007.It is affiliated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

The Bono region is one of the 16 administrative regions of Ghana. It is as a result of the remainder of Brong-Ahafo region when Bono East region and Ahafo region were created. George Boakye is a Ghanaian politician who served as the member of parliament for the Asunafo South Constituency. He is currently the Regional Minister for Ahafo region.

Dan Owusu is a Ghanaian professional football manager and former player. He played mostly as a striker for Bofoakwa Tano F.C. during his playing days. He won the top goal scorer title for the Ghana Premier League on three occasions.

Serwaa Kesse Girls' Senior High School is a female public school located in Duayaw Nkwanta in the Tano North Municipal District in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. In September 2022, they emerged as winners in the 2022 National Business Pitch Competition which was held in Accra.
