Dodowa is a town located in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, it is the district capital of Dangme West district, now Shai Osudoku District. [1]
The city is 39 km from the capital city, Accra. The notable tourist site found there is the Dodowa Forest. They celebrate "Ngmayemi festival". [2] There is a Historical Forest where the Katamanso war ended. The Tsenku Waterfall [3] is located in the Historical Dodowa Forest. This beautiful waterfall drops from a height of about 250 feet, running on stratified rocks into a cool, clean and clear pool with a large tilapia population. The Tsenku stream is joined by two other streams "Sanyade" and "Popotsi" before meandering into the sea. [4]
There is also the Dodowa Health Research Centre which majors in health related researches and implementation researches.
There are several schools in Dodowa. The Ghana Christian International High School (GCIHS) is located about 6 km on the main Dodowa-Afienya road. The school is made up of a Junior High School and a Senior High School. [5] One of the country's oldest Senior High Schools known as Ghanata Senior High School founded in 1936 can also be found in the town.
Government institutions located in Dodowa includes the Shai-Osudoku District Hospital managed by the Ghana Health Service is situated in the Dodowa town. it was established in 1970 and has metamorphosed from Health post to health center and finally to a district hospital in mid-2009. [6]
some of the major government utility companies operating in the town that extend its services to the neighbouring villages are the Ghana Water Company Limited , a company fully owned by the state responsible for potable water supply to all urban communities in Ghana. [7] The Ghana National Fire Service provides an efficient and valued fire and rescue service to meet statutory required in Act 537 and public expectation. in charge of organising public fire education programmes to create and sustain awareness of the hazards of fire, heighten the role of the individual in the prevention of fire and provide technical advice for building plans with regard to machinery and structural layouts to facilitate escape from fire, rescue operations, and fire management. [8] The Electricity Company of Ghana [9] for the Dodowa district with the mission to provide quality, reliable and safe electricity services to support growth and development. Shai-Osudoku District Assembly [10] exists to create the enabling environment for the provision of services for the total development of the District in Collaboration with all Stakeholders.

The Dangbe language, also Dangbe or Adaŋgbi, is a Kwa language spoken in south-eastern Ghana by the Dangbe People (Dangbeli). The Dangbeli are part of the larger Ga-Dangbe ethnic group. Klogbi is a variant, spoken by the Kloli. Kropp Dakubu (1987) is the most thorough grammar of the language.

The Ghana Library Authority, established in 1950 as the Ghana Library Board, was the first public library service in sub-Saharan Africa. The public library movement in Ghana began in 1928, as a personal effort of the then Anglican Bishop Orfeur Anglionby of Accra. In 1946, the Aglionby Library Management Committee worked with the British Council Advisory Committee towards library development in the then Gold Coast. In 2018, His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo appointed a Ghanaian Social Entrepreneur, Mr Hayford Siaw as GhLA Chief Executive Officer. In May 2021, the Authority was shortlisted for the LBF International Excellence Awards in the 'Library of the Year' Category.

Kpone-Katamanso Municipal District is one of the twenty-nine districts in Greater Accra Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Tema Municipal District, which was created from the former Tema District Council, until the eastern portion of the district was split off to create Kpone-Katamanso District on 28 June 2012, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2031; thus the remaining part has been retained as Tema Metropolitan District. However on 15 March 2018, it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Kpone-Katamanso Municipal District, which was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2271. The municipality is located in the central part of Greater Accra Region and has Kpone as its capital town.

Ghana Infectious Disease Centre (GIDC) is a centre built to improve the medical diagnostic, and research capacity of Ghana with regard to infectious diseases, the facility was built due to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana. Establishing the centre was facilitated by the Ghana COVID-19 Private Sector Fund in collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces at the Ga East Municipal Hospital in Accra. The old Shai Osudoku District Hospital was also renovated into one of the infectious diseases centres in the Shai Osudoku District in Dodowa. This shares boundary with the Shai Osudoku District Health Directorate. The president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo inspected the centre on 30 October 2020
Michael Afedi Gizo is a Ghanaian politician. He is a former member of the 3rd parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana. He represented the Dangme West which is now Shai-Osudoku constituency in the Greater Accra Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
