New Abirem is a small town in south Ghana and the capital of the Birim North District, a district in the Eastern Region of south Ghana. [1] A curiosity is that this remote town hosts a modern resort called Beige Village Golf Resort and Spa, where locals, tourists and especially expats can be entertained by various activities such as golf and spa treats. The resort is well known in the country for organising Junior Golf competitions. [2]

The mining giant, Newmont Golden Ridge Ltd has its Akyem mines in the District. It has been operating in the District since 2011. [3] The operations of the mine is largely credited for the rapid expansion and development of the District, especially the capital.

New Edubiase is a small town and is the capital of Adansi South, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. it was formerly called the Adansi East district in the Ashanti Region. It shares boundaries on the north with Adansi North and the northeast with the Amansie East District and on the east side shares boundary with Birim East in the Eastern Region, share boundary with Obuasi Municipal from the west and the south with Assin North in the Central Region.

Kenyasi is a town in Ghana and it's the capital of the Asutifi North District in the Ahafo Region. Kenyasi is a combination of two towns: Kenyasi No.1 and Kenyasi No.2 Kenyasi has abundance of Gold resources hence Newmont, Ghana Ahafo mine having their operations in the area since 2007. Kenyasi has direct routes to places such as Mim, Ahafo( 24 km); Hwidiem ( 5 km); Ntotroso (13 km). Sogakofe is the capital of South Tongu district, a district in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is home to the lower Volta Bridge which connects Sogakofe to Sokpoe. The town is mostly known for its river tourism and Mass bread production. The lower Volta Bridge is also the site for the famous Tortsogbeza, an annual festival held during Easter, which involves diving off the bridge, and is held in conjunction with the neighbouring town, Sokpoe. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Birim River</span>

The Birim River is one of the main tributaries of the Pra River in Ghana and the country's most important diamond-producing area, flowing through most of the width of the Eastern region. The river rises in the east of the Atewa Range, flows north through the gap between this range and the Kwahu Plateau, then runs roughly south-west until it joins the Pra. It gives its name to the Birimian rock formation, which yields most of the gold in the region. Ghana is the second largest producer of gold in Africa.

Akwatia is a town in Denkyembour, a district in the Eastern region of south Ghana and west of the Atewa Range in the Birim River basin. Akwatia has a 2013 settlement population of 23,766 people. Akwatia is the main center of diamond extraction in Ghana. The town is the center of the Denkyembour parliamentary constituency.

Akyemansa District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Birim North District in 1988, which was created from the former Birim District Council, until the southern part of the district was split off to create Akyemansa District on 29 February 2008; thus the remaining part has been retained as Birim North District. The district assembly is located in the southwest part of Eastern Region and has Ofoase as its capital town.

Achiase is a town which doubles as the district capital of Achiase District which was carved out of the Birim South District in February 2019 in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Achiase is also referred to as Akim Achiase, Akyem Achiase or Akyem Akyease and officially, most documents refer to this town as Akim-Achiase. On Google maps, it is listed as Akyease. The Chief of Achiase (Achiasehene) is the 2nd In command of the Ninfa Division of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area. The Achiasehene, Daasebre Gyenin Kantan II, plays a critical role traditionally labeled Takwa which translates as Military Intelligence Unit and thus, his title is Takwahene in the Abuakwa Traditional Area which literally means Intelligence Chief. Achiase also houses a Military Jungle Warfare Training School for the Ghana Military named Seth Anthony Barracks. This military school also offers strategic training to corporate organisations which seek its services. Over the years, multinationals like MTN are among the corporate bodies who have been trained at this facility.
