Mamponteng is the capital of Kwabre East Municipal in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. [1] [2]
The Ashanti Region is located in the southern part of Ghana and is the third largest of 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of 24,389 km2 (9,417 sq mi) and making up 10.2 percent of the total land area of Ghana. It is the most populated region in Ghana, with a population of 4,780,380, according to the 2011 census, accounting for 19.4% of Ghana's total population. The Ashanti Region is known for its gold bar and cocoa production. The largest city and capital of Ashanti is Kumasi.
Obuasi is a gold mining community and town which is the capital of the Obuasi Municipal District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It lies in the southern part of the Obuasi Municipal, 39 miles south-west of Ashanti capital city Kumasi. Obuasi has a population of 175,043 people. Obuasi mining community has a mixture of the Ashanti people culture and the semi-island exclave Ashantiland.
The Eastern Region is located in the Eastern part of Ghana and is one of the sixteen administrative regions of Ghana. Eastern region is bordered to the east by the Lake Volta, to the north by Bono East Region and Ashanti region, to the west by Ashanti region, to the south by Central region and Greater Accra Region. The Greater Accra Region has the smallest area of Ghana's 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of 3,245 square kilometres. This is 1.4 per cent of the total land area of Ghana. It is the most populated region, with a population of 5,455,692 in 2021, accounting for 17.7 per cent of Ghana's total population.

Kwabre District is a former district that was located in Ashanti Region of Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988, which it was created from the former Kwabre-Sekyere District Council; until the western part of the district was split off to become the southern portion of Afigya-Kwabre District on 1 November 2007 ; while the remaining portion has since then been officially renamed as Kwabre East District, which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Kwabre East Municipal District on 1 November 2017. The district assembly was located in the northern part of Ashanti Region and had Mamponteng as its capital town.
Mampong is a town in the Mampong Municipal of Ashanti and serves as the administrative capital of Mampong Municipal. Mampong has a population of 42,037 people. Mampong is also the centre of the new Anglican Diocese of Asante Mampong, inaugurated in 2014.
Konongo is a gold bar mining and manganese mining community located in Ashanti, Ghana. The town serves as the capital of the Asante Akim Central Municipal. As of 2012, Konongo has a settlement population of 41,238 people. Konongo is about 53 kilometres (33 mi) from Kumasi, the Ashanti capital.
Afigya Kwabre District is a former district that was located in Ashanti Region, Ghana. It was created from the western portion of Afigya-Sekyere District and the western portion of Kwabre District on 1 November 2007. However on 15 March 2018, it was split off into two new districts: Afigya Kwabre South District and Afigya Kwabre North District. The district assembly was the northern part of Ashanti Region and had Kodie as its capital town.
