The Ashanti Region is located in south Ghana and it is the third largest of 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of 24,389 km2 (9,417 sq mi) or 10.2 percent of the total land area of Ghana. In terms of population, however, it is the most populated region with a population of 4,780,380 according to the 2011 census, accounting for 19.4% of Ghana's total population. The Ashanti Region is known for its major gold bar and cocoa production. The largest city and regional capital is Kumasi.
New Edubiase is a small town and is the capital of Adansi South, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. it was formerly called the Adansi East district in the Ashanti Region. It shares boundaries on the north with Adansi North and the northeast with the Amansie East District and on the east side shares boundary with Birim East in the Eastern Region, share boundary with Obuasi Municipal from the west and the south with Assin North in the Central Region.
Sekyere South District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Afigya-Sekyere District, which it was created from part of the former Kwabre-Sekyere District Council; until the western part of the district was split off to become the northern portion of Afigya-Kwabre District on 1 November 2007 ; while the remaining portion has since then been officially renamed as Sekyere South District. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Ashanti Region and has Agona as its capital town.

The municipality is located in the northern part of Ashanti Region and has Mampong as its capital town.

The Akyem are an Akan people. The term Akyem is used to describe a group of four states: Asante Akyem, Akyem Abuakwa, Akyem Kotoku and Akyem Bosome. These nations are located primarily in the eastern region in south Ghana. The term is also used to describe the general area where the Akyem ethnic group clusters. The Akyem ethnic group make up between 3-4 percent of Ghana's population depending on how one defines the group and are very prominent in all aspects of Ghanaian life. The Akyem are a matrilineal people. The history of this ethnic group is that of brave warriors who managed to create a thriving often influential and relatively independent state within modern-day Ghana. When one talks of Ghanaian history, there is often mention of The Big Six. These were six individuals who played a big role in the independence of Ghana. Of the big six, people of Akyem descent made up the majority.
Akyem Abuakwa is one of the four states of Akyem in 14th century Africa. Currently, it is part of Ghana. Historically, the Akyem were part of the Adansi Kingdom, which was the first nation to build buildings out of mud. They were therefore were named Adansi (builders). In the 14th century, the Ashanti Empire emerged, and under the leadership of King Osei Tutu, defeated the Adansi and annexed them into the Ashanti Empire. The three Akyem nations that were part of the Adansi Kingdom seceded and crossed the River Pra.
New Edubease is one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. New Edubease is located in the Adansi South district of the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

However on 29 February 2008, it was split off into two new districts: Mampong Municipal District and Sekyere Central District. The district assembly was located in the northern part of Ashanti Region and had Mampong as its capital town.
Birim Central Municipal District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as the first Birim South District, which it was created from the former Birim District Council, until the western part of the district was split off to create a new Birim South District, with Akim Swedru as its capital town; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Birim Central Municipal District on 29 February 2008, with Akim Oda as its capital town, which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year. However on 15 March 2018, the southeast part of the district was split off to become Asene-Manso-Akroso District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Birim Central Municipal District. The municipality is located in the southwest part of Eastern Region and has Akim Oda as its capital town.
Fomena is a small town and is the capital of Adansi North, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The town is known for the T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School. The school is a second cycle institution.

Adansi Asokwa is the capital of the Adansi Asokwa District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The district itself was created out of the Adansi North District by Legislative Instrument in 2018. It is located in the southern half of the region on the N8 highway running from Kumasi, capital of the region to Yamoransa near Cape Coast, capital of the Central Region. It is also the main town in the Asokwa Area Council, one of four in the district.
