Adansi West District is a former district that was located in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988, which was created from the former Adansi District Council. However, on 17 February 2004, it was split out into three parts for three new districts: Obuasi Municipal District (capital: Obuasi), Adansi North District (capital: Fomena) and Adansi South District (capital: New Edubiase). The district assembly was located in the southern part of Ashanti Region and had Obuasi as its capital town.

New Edubiase is a small town and is the capital of Adansi South, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. it was formerly called the Adansi East district in the Ashanti Region. It shares boundaries on the north with Adansi North and the northeast with the Amansie East District and on the east side shares boundary with Birim East in the Eastern Region, share boundary with Obuasi Municipal from the west and the south with Assin North in the Central Region.

However on 28 June 2012, the Afram Plains area of the district was split off to create the new Sekyere Afram Plains District, with Dobrosno as its capital town; while the remaining part has since then been officially renamed as Sekyere Kumawu District, with Kumawu as its capital town. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Ashanti Region and has Effiduase as its capital town.

However on 15 March 2018, the southeast part of the district was split off to become Asene-Manso-Akroso District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Birim Central Municipal District. The municipality is located in the southwest part of Eastern Region and has Akim Oda as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Upper Denkyira District in 1988, which was created from the former Denkyira District Council, until the northwest part of the district was split off to create Upper Denkyira West District on 29 February 2008; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Upper Denkyira East District. The district assembly is located in the northwest part of Central Region and has Diaso as its capital town.

Adansi Asokwa is the capital of the Adansi Asokwa District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The district itself was created out of the Adansi North District by Legislative Instrument in 2018. It is located in the southern half of the region on the N8 highway running from Kumasi, capital of the region to Yamoransa near Cape Coast, capital of the Central Region. It is also the main town in the Asokwa Area Council, one of four in the district.
