Bosome Freho District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. [2] Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Amansie East District in 2004; until the eastern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 29 February 2008 to create Bosome Freho District; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Bekwai Municipal District while it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year. The district assembly is located in the southern part of Ashanti Region and has Asiwa as its capital town.
There is one senior high school Bosome Senior High Technical School, a district magistrate court at Asiwa, Asiwa Health Centre and a police station. There is also a budget hotel, Pakas Lodge with a restaurant.
The Upper West Region of Ghana is located in the north-western corner of Ghana and is bordered by Upper East Region to the east, Northern Region to the south, and Burkina Faso to the west and north. The Upper West regional capital and largest settlement is Wa. The Upper West was created by the then Head of State, Jerry Rawlings in 1983 under the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) military regime. It lies in the southern part of the Obuasi Municipal and is located about 39 mi (63 km) from Kumasi. As of 2012, the town has a population of 175,043 people. The current mayor of the town is Hon. Elijah Adansi-Bonah.
Bekwai is a town and the capital of the Bekwai Municipal, a municipality in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Bekwai is the seventy-ninth most populous settlement in Ghana, with a population of 7,267 people as of 2013. Bekwai and Bekwai Municipal are south of Kumasi and north of Obuasi. As of 2021, the current mayor of the municipal is Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour.

Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Amansie East District, which it was created from the former Amansie District Council. Later, the western part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 12 November 2003 to create Amansie Central District; thus the remaining part has retained as Amansie East District. Then the eastern part of the district was later split off to create Bosome Freho District on 29 February 2008; while the remaining part was elevated to municipal district assembly status on the same year to become and has since been renamed as Bekwai Municipal District. The municipality is located in the southern part of Ashanti Region and has Bekwai as its capital town.

Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 as Ejura Sekyedumase District, which it was created from parts of the former Sekyere District and Offinso District Councils. Ejisu is a city in Greater Kumasi located along the Kumasi-Accra highway about 20 km from Kumasi. It is the capital of Ejisu Municipal Assembly, a municipality of the Ashanti Region, Ghana. This municipal is one of the 30 administrative and political Districts in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and it was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I) 1890. In 2020, the Nkosuohene of Ejisu was Nana Kofi Poku. In 2022, the Chief of Ejisu was Nana Afrane Okese. As of 2024, the Municipal Chief Executive of the town was Mr Samuel Oduro Frimpong.
Mampong is a town and the capital of the Mampong Municipal in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. As of 2012, the town has a population of 42,037 people. The town is home to the Mamponghene, Nana Osei Bonsu II.

However on 1 November 2007, the eastern part of the district was split off to create Sekyere Central District; while the remaining portion has since then been officially renamed as Mampong Municipal District, which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year. The district assembly is located in the northern part of Ashanti Region and has Nsuta as its capital town.
