The 7107 International Music Festival was a two-day outdoor international music festival that took place in Global Gateway Logistics City in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines. It took place from February 22 to 23, 2014. [1] [2] Founded and produced by Tina Herrera and Mike Pio Roda, the event was held to introduce Filipino talent to a global audience. [3]

2014 Edition

Day One

Kaskade and Alvaro performed 75-minute sets; while Natives, Reid Stefan, Kid Ink, DJ Riddler, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour and Canadian hip hop artist Immerze played for 60 minutes. Other performers for the day included: Kjwan, Radioactive Sago Project, Taken by Cars, Runmanila, Maude, Runway Crimes, Techy Romantics, Wilderness, Musical O, Sleepwalk Circus, Hidden Nikki, Child/ren of the Pilgrimage, The Charmes, The Sleepyheads, DJ Nix Damn P, DJ Bcal, DJ Katsy Lee, DJ Patrick Po, DJ Motherbasss, DJ Skratchmark

Day Two

Red Hot Chili Peppers performed a full 90-minute set; Kendrick Lamar, Empire of the Sun and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus played 60 minutes each; while Luciana and Scarlet Heroes played 30 minutes each. 2015 Edition

No festival was held. In an interview, co-producer Mike Pio Roda hinted on a possible revival of the festival in the near future. [5]

Controversies

Just before the music festival was held, rumors about that the event was funded by alleged scammer Janet Lim Napoles went out on the internet. [18] Another issue was when a young actor and three others were caught by the authority after allegedly smoking Marijuana inside the event. The young actor was identified by the police officers as Kit Thompson, Juan Paolo Serafica, Geani Dionisio, and the fourth was still a minor.

Raymund Marasigan Filipino musician

Raimund Emmanuel Parcon Marasigan is a Filipino rock musician and record producer. His first name is often misspelled Raymond or Raimond though he personally prefers to spell his name as Raymund. The breadth of his projects has made him one of the most well-respected mainstays of the Philippine rock band scene. He was the drummer, vocalist and lyricist alongside bandmate Ely Buendia of The Eraserheads, and the current keyboard/synths player for Pedicab, former rhythm guitarist and now frontman of Sandwich, current drummer of Cambio, vocalist of Project 1 and the man behind Squid 9. Currently, he holds bass for his newest band, Gaijin. Aside from writing songs and being a musician, he is also a record producer, voice actor, TV host and product endorser.

Kaskade American DJ and record producer

Ryan Gary Raddon, better known by his stage name Kaskade, is an American DJ, record producer and remixer. DJ Times voted Kaskade "America's Best DJ" in 2011 and 2013. DJ Mag named Kaskade fifty-first on its 2009 list of Top 100 DJs.

Rubber Inc is an electronic music duo from the Philippines and considered as intelligent dance musicians. The band is composed of Malek Lopez and Noel De Brackinghe, and was formed in 1998. They are the pioneers of live electronic dance music in the Philippines. They have been performing in the Philippine music scene as well as international events like the c/o pop music festival in Cologne, Germany in 2007. They had collaborations with Ballet Philippines, Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, and brothers Andi and Hannes Teichmann who are DJs based in Berlin.

The Itchyworms Filipino rock band

The Itchyworms is a Filipino rock band. The band is composed of Jazz Nicolas on drums, Jugs Jugueta on guitars, Kelvin Yu on bass guitars and Chino Singson on lead guitars. The group made their name in the OPM scene in 2006 with their sophomore effort Noontime Show with songs such as "Akin Ka Na Lang" and "Beer".

Sandwich is a Filipino alternative rock band from the Philippines. The band consists of lead vocalist Raymund Marasigan, guitarists and backing vocalists Diego Castillo and Mong Alcaraz, bassist Myrene Academia and drummer Mike Dizon.

NU 107 (DWNU) was a radio station in Mega Manila that played mainly rock music. It was owned by Progressive Broadcasting Corporation. The station's last studio was located at the ground floor of AIC Gold Tower, F. Ortigas Jr. Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig.

The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, was a Filipino musical group. The group had its fledgling beginnings in 1969 at the Ateneo de Manila high school, with 15 members: John Paul Micayabas, Lito de Joya, Sonny Santiago, Gus Cosio, Renato Garcia, Chito Kintanar, Kenny Barton, Bruce Brown, Butch Dans, Kinjo Sawada, Ric Segreto Macaraeg, Goff Macaraeg, Doden Besa, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garovillo. The group's name was created from the acronym AMHS representing their school with a witty twist having an irreverent reference to the Philippine revolutionary intellectual and hero, Apolinario Mabini, and later shortened to "Apo", an Ilocano term for a wise man or a Tagalog term of grandchildren, and later re-branded to "APO". Black Hippy American hip hop supergroup from California

Black Hippy is an American hip hop supergroup from South Los Angeles, California, formed in 2009. The group is composed of West Coast rappers Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q. Black Hippy was constructed after all of its members had signed to Carson-based indie record label, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).

Raymond Abracosa, better known as Abra, is a Filipino hip hop recording artist and occasional actor. He gained mainstream popularity with his song "Gayuma". When the video reached more than 26 million views on YouTube, it was hailed as the highest number generated by any local artist. Before that, he is a well-known battle emcee in the FlipTop Battle League.

Johanne Morissette Daug Amon-Lamar, known professionally as Morissette and frequently also referred to as Morissette Amon, is a Filipina singer, songwriter, producer and former actress. She first rose to prominence when she was the runner-up on TV5's Star Factor at the age of 14. In 2012, she made her professional stage debut in the Repertory Philippines stage adaptation of Disney's Camp Rock in the role of Mitchie Torres.
